Pleasantview 7/8/20

Today we are visiting Briarwood boys' dorm B which has five students (all teens except Steven): Steven Ottomas, Jake Alpha, Simon and Teddy Korman, and Glen Gray.
Steven Ottomas is the adopted son of Armando Ottomas (who is the adopted son of Sharla Ottomas).  He has three siblings, but is the only child at Briarwood currently, which is probably a little lonely for him.  Since it was Saturday, he was supposed to invite his father for a visit, but Armando is a vampire and couldn't come during the day.  He may not have come anyway since the two didn't have much time to bond given that Armando sent Steven to boarding school immediately after adopting him.
Jake Alpha is the son of Drake Dreamer and Bethany Alpha (Drake is the son of Darren and Brandi Dreamer; Bethany is a second generation spare in my Alphabet Legacy* - her parents are Andrew and Aiyana Alpha).  He has five siblings - all older.  Since Jake wants to be a business owner, I don't have his want to go to Uni locked, but it is consistently there so he may end up going in the end.  This round he did a little skilling and hung out with the other guys.
Simon and Teddy Korman are brothers (not twins).  They are the sons of Alan and Brittany Korman (Alan is a former townie; Brittany is the adopted daughter of Jade Broke {also a former townie}).  They also have a younger sister.  They are both hardworking students who plan to attend college and until this round they were both holding down jobs as well.  Simon unfortunately got fired from a bad chance card.
Glen Gray is the adopted son of Aiyana Gray (former townie).  He has three siblings.  Michael is also a very serious student who is planning to enter the Medical field when he grows up, so college is a must for him.  He also works a part-time job to supplement his income since his mother is not wealthy and can't always afford to help him out.  He got a promotion this round which was really helpful.

Finally we have the girls' dorm B which has four students: Tina Traveller, Caryl Broke, Kimberli Cox, and Madison Kim.
Tina is, of course, the daughter of Trent and Trisha Traveller.  She is an only child and an orphan (I've played her parents in other 'hoods and have found them to be painfully boring, so this time I took them around to world to collect all the vacation memories, built them a beautiful house with a Bigfoot to look after it, and then killed them off - let's call it a plane crash).  Tina has been at Briarwood since childhood, so she's one of the most well-rounded students skill-wise (students must earn one skill point per day).  Interestingly she wants to go into the Adventure career when she grows up, maybe as some sort of homage to her long-lost parents?  She won't need college for that, but she's still considering it.
Caryl Broke is the adopted daughter of Aiden Broke (son of Dustin and Angela Broke).  We met two of her brothers in previous updates (Jordan Hanby and Jay Broke), plus she has two additional siblings.  Caryl is planning to attend college and go into the Intelligence career.  This round she spent time skilling, working at her part-time job, and hanging out with the other students.
Kimberli Cox is the adopted daughter of Hailey Cox (daughter of former townies Marion and Kennedy Cox).  She has two younger brothers.  Her goal is to become an Architect, so college is definitely on the agenda.  This round she spent most of her time by the pool, chatting with anyone and everyone.  She's quite the social butterfly.
Madison Kim has a complicated family tree.  Her father is Alon Kim, who is the adopted son of Justin Kim (he's the boy in the original Kim family).  Her mother is Nadine Kim, who is the adopted daughter of Jace and Heath Lothario (Jace is a former townie teen who is the son of Jon Smith Tricou; Heath is the son of Nina Caliente Lothario and Daniel Pleasant).  On top of all that, Madison's parents (who are no longer together) have a number of kids with different partners, so it's hard to keep track of everyone.  Simply put, she has five siblings, some she knows and some she doesn't.  Madison wants to go into Politics, so college is definitely in her future.

*I sometimes like to do traditional legacies, even though the way I play is more or less legacy-style anyway.  Bluewater Village is reserved for legacy families; no one else lives there, though all the shops and such remain.  When I play the legacy families they follow whatever rules I've set for them rather than the Pleasantview rules, however all spares are sent to live in Pleasantview and thereafter follow the Pleasantview guidelines.  Since I like to keep aging in sync, I still only play legacy families for one day at a time at the very end of the rotation, which means it takes a very long time to get through even a ten generation legacy.  I've been playing the Alphas mentioned above for a very long time and we're still only up to Generation D!  You'll hear a lot more about the spares and their descendants in the updates to come.

That's it for Briarwood.  Tomorrow we will move to base Pleasantview, where our first household will be the Pleasantview Penitentiary.  Happy Simming!
