Pleasantview 7/1/20

Today we're moving over to LFT and checking in at 134 Aridestra Dr., where we have just one resident: Marion Mendoza.  Marion is a former dormie who moved in with Frances Worthington when he was (I think) a junior.  He graduated and left campus a while ago, but Marion is still here finishing her degree.  This round she is a first term senior, majoring in Art in preparation for a Slacker career.  Since she has no financial help, she's accrued a large amount of debt, which she'll bring with her when she eventually graduates and moves in with Frances.  They're engaged by the way so, barring any unforeseen circumstances, they'll be getting married as soon as she's finished school.

I want to take some time here to explain how outings and dates work in this 'hood.  I always find that it's hard for sims to keep in contact with other sims once they no longer live with them, so I came up with a system to keep relationships going (or sometimes not going).  Here's how it works: each day of the week is assigned a particular type of outing for a particular type of sim.  Single sims (meaning they don't live with a romantic partner) have one-on-one outings on Mondays, group outings on Wednesdays, and dates on Fridays.  Their one-on-one outing will be with the first sim in their relationship panel with whom they have less than a 90/90 score, their group outing will be with the first three sims less than 90/90, and their date will be with the first eligible date candidate in their panel.  These outings/dates are always scored so that sims will get need boosts (or crashes) depending on how the outing went.  During the outings I follow the sim's wants and if I can't fulfill any wants, I let them do what they please autonomously.  Couples who live together do individual outings with their own set of friends: group outings on Tuesday and one-on-one outings on Thursday.  Saturdays are for family outings.  Everyone who lives in the household goes out somewhere together.  If it's just a couple with no children, it can be a date.  (Couples with children can still have dates if they roll wants for them.)  Sundays are for play dates.  Children can invite over their three closest friends to hang out and play with.  Even though I haven't been mentioning these outings in my updates, they have been occurring and will likely get mentioned in future updates when there's less backstory to share about the sims.

Happy Simming!
