Pleasantview 7/5/20

Today we are catching up with the Nagard-Fruhm-Cham Fraternity which has two members: Andrew Dreamer and Jess Creelman.
Andrew Dreamer is the adopted son of Alexis Dreamer (Alexis is the daughter of Nathan and Christine Dreamer and the granddaughter of Dirk and Lilith {Pleasant} Dreamer and Jodie and Komei Tellerman).  He's got roots in the community for sure.  He also has a younger sister.  He gets some financial help from his mom, but still needs to rely on student loans as well.  This round Andrew is a first term sophomore, majoring in Art and planning to go into the Culinary career.  Next round he'll be finishing his sophomore year.
Jess Creelman is a former dormie who was moved into the Greek house as a placeholder.  I don't like having to restart the Greek houses every time they fall empty, so this is my solution.  Whenever the members are all preparing to leave the house, I have them ask a dormie to pledge and move them in before the others move out.  I don't play the Greek house again until one of my playable sims joins the house, at which point the former dormie becomes playable.  It not only solves the Greek house issue, but also allows some new blood into the neighborhood and causes the game to spawn new dormies as well.  All that being said, Jess is a first term freshman this round (placeholders are the exception to the rule about members being at least sophomores before moving in), majoring in Philosophy with the illustrious goal of becoming a Slacker.  His actual LTW is to have 20 Simultaneous Lovers, but for those who have non-job related LTWs I use hobbies/interests to decide what job they will pursue.  Next round Jess will finish his freshman year.

At the Romara Dorm there is just one resident: Lauren Greaves.
Lauren is the daughter of Jonathan Greaves and the younger sister of twins Isabelle and Sydney who we've already met.  Her mother is deceased and she also has an older brother and two younger sisters.  An interesting tidbit about Lauren is that she is "marked for death", which means that every midnight I roll a 20-sided die and if the number 1 comes up, she'll die.  It's a bit dark, I know, but since I don't have very many accidental deaths in the game this allows for some unpredictability to happen.  You can think of it as suicide or just Fate stepping in to cause chaos.  I've found that it often plays into the backstory really well.  For example, Lauren may blame herself for her mother's death, since Ivy died almost immediately after she was born (it was actually the need tank from a bad outing which killed her, but having low hunger from pregnancy definitely contributed) and get depressed or just feel that life has it in for her.  The way a sim is chosen to be "marked" is if they wind up with a turn-on for zombies (turn-ons are randomized).  In any event, Lauren survived this round in which she is a first term freshman, majoring in Drama to pursue a career in (what else?) Athletics.  Next round she will be finishing her freshman year...maybe.

That's all folks!  Happy Simming!
