Victorian Population Challenge 4/6/22

Now that Summer is coming to a close, it's time for an update on the families of Victoria's Peak.

Poor #1 Stanbury:  Current household members are: Raymond & Marie (Gen 2 - adults), Ginevra (Gen 3 - child), Norman (Gen 3 Heir - child), Matthew (Gen 3 - toddler), and Sophie (Gen 3 - toddler).  Four children, as expected, and Marie is now too old to have another.  In a surprising turn of events, the household seems to have recovered from the slow time bug (this has never happened to me before!!) and things are moving along as normal now.  I'm sure Marie is thrilled by the news that it slowed down just long enough to make her give birth a couple more times, but I'm just happy to learn that it can reverse itself.  It means there's hope for the other affected households.  In other news, Raymond finally earned a much-needed promotion and they were able to buy some things they needed for the house.  Household bank balance is $99/$50,000.

Poor #2 Vacant

Poor #3 Baldwin:  Current household members are: Hart & Josie (Gen 2 Heir/Wife - elder/adult), Lucy (Gen 3 - teen), August (Gen 3 Heir - child), Honey (Gen 3 - child), and Bree (Gen 3 - toddler).  Josie is pregnant with the couple's fifth child.  Hart is still working on that promotion.  He's not there yet, but he's getting incrementally closer every day.  Maybe by the end of Fall he'll have achieved it.  Lucy is old enough to have a job now as well, so that'll help too.  Josie earned her silver pottery badge this Summer, so she's earning more than before also.  They're getting there, slowly but surely.  Household bank balance is $39,239/$50,000.

Poor #4 Hopkins:  Current household members are: Henry & Alice (Gen 2 - adults), Herman (Gen 3 Heir - adult), Julian (Gen 3 - teen), Derek (Gen 3 - child), and Olive (Gen 3 - baby).  Adelaide moved out and Alice is too old for any more children.  If you're wondering where Rose is, let me explain.  This house has become the glitchiest one to date in the history of my game.  Not only has it developed the slow time bug, but spontaneous combustion has become a serious problem as well.  Not only do household objects sometimes randomly burst into flames, but sometimes it's the sims themselves who catch fire.  The issue began in mid-Summer and so far has claimed three victims: a paper girl, townie teen Marsha Bruenig, and Rose, who was only a child.  Henry also was killed once, but Alice managed to successfully plead for his life.  She wasn't so lucky with poor little Rose.  I don't know if this glitch is tied to the house, a particular sim, the season, or what, but it may be the death (quite literally) of this family.  A third, equally annoying though less deadly, issue is that baby Olive has now frozen up twice while trying to age her up with the cake and had to be deleted and reset.  Hopefully she'll age up at some point and I can adjust by sending her off to Uni a few days early to make up for it, but who knows with this household.  She may just be a permanent baby until she spontaneously combusts.  Household bank balance is $10,903/$50,000.

That's it for Poor families.  We'll start on Sub Farmers next.  Until then, Happy Simming!
