Steven and Cora Moore were having a great round until Saturday night. Business was doing well, Cora worked on some sewing, and they were looking forward to their third son, Henry, growing into a teen on Sunday night. Unfortunately, things went off the rails when a burglar showed up Saturday night. Since there is no technology in the Royal Kingdom, the Moores don't have a phone, much less a burglar alarm, meaning they had no choice but to watch the thief clear them out. He took both wardrobes, two couches, and Steven's pottery wheel. Consequently, they had over $3000 before the robbery, but after replacing everything but one wardrobe, paying their church tithes, and buying a cake for Henry's birthday, they now have just $14 to their name. And since no one is allowed to work or run their shop on Sunday, they didn't have an opportunity to recoup any of their loss this round. Tough luck for them.
This was the first round for the new Seamstress household. Chastity McMahon is our first seamstress. She had enough starting money to furnish the living areas and bathrooms, but will need to work to finish furnishing the two bedrooms and sewing room. For now there's just a single bed, dresser, and one sewing machine, which is really all she needs anyway. Though her stock for the shop is currently limited to potholders and curtains (she leveled up her sewing badge fairly quickly), she did good business and will eventually be able to make quilts and custom outfits. I'm not having her sell teddy bears because those are available at the toy shop and I see no reason to make regular outfits since those are sold at the marketplace. All in all, it was a solid start. She was a bit lonely, but I expect that won't be for long as she'll be joined by some other ladies in time.
The boarding school is up next. Happy Simming!
