Pleasantview 6/30/20 #2

Two posts in one day!  I got some extra time and couldn't resist coming back to play another household.  We're still at SSU, visiting Landgraab House (a dorm), where we have two residents: Isabelle Greaves and David Ottomas.
Isabelle is the daughter of Jonathan Greaves and Ivy (Copur) Greaves (both former townies).  She has a twin sister, as well as an older brother and three younger sisters.  Her older half-brother is from a previous relationship her father had, while her two youngest sisters are from his current wife.  Unfortunately, her mother died when she and her two full sisters were just babies.  She's had a pretty tough life and though things are beginning to look up, she's not out of the woods yet.  Now that he's retired her dad doesn't really have the money to fund her college fund on a regular basis, so she's accumulating quite a debt.  This round she's a second term junior, majoring in Drama and preparing for an Athletic career.  She was dating a dormie named Patrick, but they had a falling out and she recently started dating her dormmate David.  She doesn't have a clue that he's romancing every woman he comes into contact with.  Next round she'll be starting her senior year.
David Ottomas is the son of Andrew and Kaylynn Ottomas.  (Andrew is the son of the original David Ottomas and his townie wife Alicia.  Kaylynn is a former maid.)  David has two younger siblings who are twins.  Financially he's in great shape, as his family is fairly wealthy and easily able to help pay for his schooling.  David is a first term sophomore this round, majoring in Literature and planning a career in Adventure.  He's also really enjoying sowing his wild oats, which likely means a broken heart for Isabelle in the near future.  Next round he'll finish his sophomore year.

Lastly in SSU is Pinenut Plaza (a dorm), where there are again two residents: Blaze Broke and Jordan Hanby.
Blaze is the son of Sayid Ramaswami and Amber Broke (Sayid is the son of Sanjay and Priya; Amber is the daughter of Dustin and Angela {Pleasant} Broke).  His parents met when they joined a commune (more details on that when I play the commune) and he grew up there.  He has two half-siblings on his father's side who he doesn't know.  Both his parents passed away right after he left for college.  This round Blaze is a first term sophomore, majoring in Drama and preparing for a Dance career.  However, he's a semester behind since he went on academic probation in a previous round.  Consequently, he'll be using the extra ninth semester to "catch up", meaning he'll leave as soon as he graduates and effectively have no time to save up for a place to live.  He'll also be swimming in student loan debt since commune members don't really believe in saving for college.  If he doesn't figure something out before graduation, he'll likely be moving into the homeless shelter.  But he still has time as he'll just be finishing sophomore year next round.
Jordan Hanby is actually Blaze's cousin.  His parents are Aiden Broke and Lucy Hanby (Aiden is the son of Dustin and Angela and Lucy is a former maid).  After his parents split up, Jordan and his older brother Joel moved out with their mother.  His father subsequently adopted three more children.  Since he's been receiving college fund money from both parents for quite a while, finances are not a problem for Jordan.  He is a first term freshman this round, majoring in Drama with the goal of becoming an Athlete.  During this round, Jordan had the want to join a greek house and was accepted to Urele-Oresha-Cham.  I don't allow students to move to the greek house until they are sophomores, so Jordan won't be going anywhere until he finishes up his freshman year next round.

Ok, that's really it for today, lol.  Next we'll be heading over to La Fiesta Tech.  Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 6/30/20

Welcome to Pleasantview!  Since I've been playing this neighborhood for a very long time you'll be meeting the descendants of the original residents.  I'll try to include family lineage and history to the best of my recollection.  There are also a LOT of rules here, which I'll try to explain along the way.  That being said, let's get to the first update which comes from SSU.

Up first in SSU (at the moment it's first because no one lives in any of the previous residences/greek houses) is the Urele-Oresha-Cham Fraternity.  Current members are: Jasper Roseland and Ross Grundstrom.
Jasper is the son of Felicia Roseland and Sayid Ramaswami (Felicia was once married to Cyd; Sayid was the son of Sanjay and Priya).  Jasper was raised by his mother.  He never met his father, nor his two half-siblings (on his father's side).  Both of his parents are now deceased, so he's pretty much on his own.  During this round (for Uni students a round is one semester) Jasper is a second term senior, majoring in Literature.  He graduated with a 3.0 and will prepare to enter a career in Music.  Next round he'll take advantage of the extra semester to work bartending or whatever to earn extra money towards getting his own place.  He could move back to his mother's house, but one of her endless string of roommates is currently living there and I feel like Jasper's ready to move on with his life, now that's his mom's gone.
Ross is the son of Stephen Landgraab and Tess Grundstrom (Stephen is the son of Malcolm and Lucy [Burb] Landgraab; Tess is the daughter of former Mr. Big and Diva Sullivan and Sadie Grundstrom).  Though his parents have never officially married, they've been together for a very long time.  So long, in fact, that Ross has 10 siblings (2 half-siblings from his father's previous marriage and 8 full siblings).  Ross falls somewhere in the middle along with his twin sister Dawn.  I should also mention that Ross' father Stephen is a vampire, while his mother is not, and since she's nearly an elder it stands to reason that once she's gone, Stephen may have even more children before all is said and done.  This round Ross is a first term sophomore, majoring in Drama.  He eventually plans to have a career in Dance.  He's struggling a bit financially though as his grant money plus the money his parents add to his college fund each semester isn't enough to cover tuition and greek fees.*  But that's what student loans are for, right?  Next round he'll be finishing his sophomore year.

*College isn't free in Pleasantview.  Tuition at SSU is $1500/semester, dorm rent is $500/semester, greek house fees are $1000/semester, and off-campus housing is whatever it costs to move in plus normal living expenses.  A student's grant money goes towards paying these costs.  In addition, I have parents set up college funds for their children (if they can afford it) starting when the child is a toddler.  I have them put a $500 statue in the child's inventory each round.  If possible, I have them continue giving the statues (as gifts) to their college students until they graduate.  When a student arrives on campus they immediately sell all their statues and I take note of the amount, subtracting their expenses from the balance each semester (and also adding any subsequent amounts their parents give them).  If a student goes into the negative, I consider them to be using student loans.  They may continue their education, even if they continue to rack up negative charges.  Once they graduate, I take the final tally of what they owe and make a note of it.  They will need to pay the loan amount back over time once they return to the neighborhood.  Any money they earn during the final extra semester is what they have to rent an apartment or otherwise begin their adult lives, as there is no free $20,000 either.

That's all for today.  Happy Simming!

RKC 6/29/20

The courtesans struck out this round.  Though they did meet a few men and Poppy even scored a date with former King James, he left in the middle and there was no date reward.  They're still ok on cash so it's not too terrible.  Daisy became an elder, which means she will join Lily in only greeting clients who happen to walk (which none did this round).  Tulip will not become an adult until the very end of next round, which leaves Poppy as the primary bread winner for the time being.

Over at the orphanage, Elias became a child.  Naomi will be an elder next round, so I'm on the lookout for a replacement director in the near future.  This will most likely be a Merchant girl.  Luckily Matthew Moore has three daughters, so I shouldn't have a problem.

And that is it for the Royal Kingdom.  I think I've decided to move to my original neighborhood of Pleasantview next.  This was my very first 'hood that I've been playing now since 2007.  It is massive: 80+ households in base Pleasantview, plus Downtown, a suburb I named Pleasant Valley, and all three Universities.  I do have a Bluewater there, but it's reserved for a couple of legacies I play.  I haven't checked my notes yet, but I think the population is upwards of 500 sims.  So even though I only play one day (or one semester) at a time for each household, it still takes a very long time to play through a single round.  Also, there are many rules that I've set for Pleasantview that I need to review before jumping back in, which is what I'm going to do right now.  I have some extra play time today so I may get to dive into the first household.  If so, I'll make another post to cover that.  Otherwise it'll be tomorrow most likely.

Until then, Happy Simming!

RKC 6/28/20

I will combine Oscar Potter, Luke Peterson, and Caleb Pratt into one summary since they all basically did the same things: go to school, go to work, and tend their gardens.  They all remained teens at the end of the round, however Caleb at least had Nora move in at the end.  Once they're both adults they'll get married.

Nanette Peterson had an uneventful round, though her familiar Midnight did finally become an elder.  Midnight has been around since the previous witch and has been kept alive with elixir.  She'll be around for a while longer as she will still be getting the elixir once a week, but her days are numbered.

Next up: the Courtesans!  Happy Simming!

RKC 6/26/20

Frederick and Mary Ann Pratt both became elders this round, which means Frederick had to quit his job and take an elder job.  The heir, Vernon, is officially betrothed to Thelma Potter; they'll get married as soon as they both become adults.  Meanwhile Walter grew into a teen and was moved out to his own shack and youngest Alfred became a child.  We're still short a bed so Edmund is sleeping on the couch until he grows up and moves out.  At one point I had that glitch where the teens return from school and everyone, including the children, pop out of the bus.  I sent the children back to school before they could get in trouble for skipping, but I was afraid I'd be stuck with this glitch for eternity (I have a few households in Smercury where it's been going on forever).  Luckily everything was fine the next day.

Earl and Jenna Potter's sixth and final child was born: a daughter named Gladys who grew into a toddler by the end of the round.  Ernest and Gwyneth also grew up this round and Ernest moved out to start his own household at the end.  Jenna and Agnes both worked on their sewing during the days while everyone else was out.  Though Herman and Agnes didn't get the chance to spend too much time together, they did build their relationship a bit and they'll have plenty more time to do so before they need to get married.

Miles Potter had a fairly productive round.  His tomatoes came in just in time for him to pay a late night visit to the King's Hall to pay his taxes.  His brothers stopped by one morning, so he was able to get his social up a bit over breakfast without waiting for the dreaded Social Bunny to make an appearance.  He also managed to catch up on all his homework over the weekend so he won't get fired from his job.  The only bad thing was that a burglar came one night.  However, he decided only to take the mirror for some reason, so it wasn't too terrible.  Miles replaced it with a cheaper one, as he's still struggling financially.

Happy Simming!

RKC 6/25/20

David Peterson became an elder at the start of the round, which meant quitting his full-time job in favor of a part-time elder job.  Not great for the family's income, but Philip also has a teen job and will become an adult before too much longer.  At the end of the round, twins Anthony and Sarah became teens and had their fates decided: Anthony will start his own household and Sarah joins the convent.  There is just one spot left in the convents and I already know that Destiny Nordstrom will be taking that slot, so I really hope I can match the last few Peasant girls in this generation with some Merchant boys.  By the time the next generation grows up, some of the nuns will have passed on, leaving space for new residents.

Happy Simming!

RKC 6/24/20

Got to finish the Potters today.  Henry turned 60, while his daughters Nora and Clara became teen and child, respectively.  After running through all Nora's possibilities, it turns out she's a match for Caleb Pratt.  None of the other Peasant options were available to her (apart from the convent of course) and Caleb is the only Peasant boy she isn't related to.  Since he hasn't yet been played this round, Nora will hang out in the bin until he has and I'll pop her in at the end, ready to go for the next round.

Next up: the Petersons.  Happy Simming!

RKC 6/23/20

In the second convent Mother Superior Roberta Nordstrom turned 60, Sister Katherine Nero became an elder, and at the end of the round, Rachel Nordstrom joined the church.  That brings the total number of residents up to seven, same as Convent #1.

I was really hoping to finish the Potters today as well, but I couldn't get it done.  They'll be up tomorrow.  Until then, Happy Simming!

RKC 6/22/20

The boarding school was uneventful as usual.  By the end Rachel Nordstrom had grown up; she'll become a nun next round.  Also next round, Christian will finally grow up and return home as the Nordstrom heir.  Headmaster George McMahon is nearly elderhood so I'll also need to be on the lookout for a replacement.  There aren't any spare Nobles at the moment, but there should be plenty of Merchants to choose from.

Nothing to report on the first convent.  No deaths, age ups, or new nuns.

Happy Simming!

RKC 6/21/20

Steven and Cora Moore were having a great round until Saturday night.  Business was doing well, Cora worked on some sewing, and they were looking forward to their third son, Henry, growing into a teen on Sunday night.  Unfortunately, things went off the rails when a burglar showed up Saturday night.  Since there is no technology in the Royal Kingdom, the Moores don't have a phone, much less a burglar alarm, meaning they had no choice but to watch the thief clear them out.  He took both wardrobes, two couches, and Steven's pottery wheel.  Consequently, they had over $3000 before the robbery, but after replacing everything but one wardrobe, paying their church tithes, and buying a cake for Henry's birthday, they now have just $14 to their name.  And since no one is allowed to work or run their shop on Sunday, they didn't have an opportunity to recoup any of their loss this round.  Tough luck for them.

This was the first round for the new Seamstress household.  Chastity McMahon is our first seamstress.  She had enough starting money to furnish the living areas and bathrooms, but will need to work to finish furnishing the two bedrooms and sewing room.  For now there's just a single bed, dresser, and one sewing machine, which is really all she needs anyway.  Though her stock for the shop is currently limited to potholders and curtains (she leveled up her sewing badge fairly quickly), she did good business and will eventually be able to make quilts and custom outfits.  I'm not having her sell teddy bears because those are available at the toy shop and I see no reason to make regular outfits since those are sold at the marketplace.  All in all, it was a solid start.  She was a bit lonely, but I expect that won't be for long as she'll be joined by some other ladies in time.

The boarding school is up next.  Happy Simming!

RKC 6/19/20

Daniel Moore became an elder this round, but his flower shop is still going strong.  He'll be ready to hand it over to Luke eventually.  The only other age up to take place this round was youngest child Abigail becoming a teen.  It's too soon to say where she'll be placed, but she's not likely to have any marriage prospects, so most likely she'll either be orphanage director or a seamstress.  Oldest child Charlotte will be an adult next round and I'm pretty sure she'll be marrying Christian Nordstrom.

Both Matthew and Meredythe Moore became elders right at the end of the round.  Their youngest daughter Andrea aged up to teen as well.  Elvin will become an adult next round and take over the bakery.  All that's left then is for Elvin to find a wife and for Matthew to find a place for his three daughters.

Happy Simming!

RKC 6/18/20

The Royals were a royal drag.  They don't have much going on at all.  I will say that the elders' life bars are getting close to the end very quickly, so we may have some deaths next round.  But unless I decide to play another round, that won't be for a very long time.  I still haven't decided where I'm going next, but I still have the rest of the round to decide.

Over in the Nero household, Nicholas has returned from boarding school and is looking for a wife to get the next generation started.  No such luck so far, but he did secure employment in the Science career.  Apart from that, the only noteworthy event was the kitchen fire that servant Gabriel started.  Luckily he was able to put it out in time and no one was hurt.

The Nordstroms are still enjoying retirement while waiting for Christian to finish boarding school and return home.  They had a cockroach infestation at one point, but Theresa took care of it.  Speaking of Theresa (their servant), she'll become an elder next round, which means it won't be long before the Nordstroms need a new servant.

Father Ian is still the only resident of the monastery.  He became an elder this round, so we really need to get someone in there with him to take over.

At the McMahon house, both Adam and Frances turned 60 and Hannah became an adult, which meant Adam was able to arrange a marriage between her and Nicholas Nero, elevating her to Noble status (the best possible outcome for a Merchant girl).  Gregory will become an adult next round and be able to officially take over the toy shop.  At that point I'll have Adam take an elder job and semi-retire.  That leaves only John, who will likely move to his own place in a couple more rounds.

Happy Simming!

RKC 6/17/20

The orphanage was pretty uneventful.  At the end of the round I dropped Lily in with toddler Elias and had her take Caleb with her upon moving out.  She dropped Caleb off at a Peasant shack and moved back home to the courtesans.  While I was there, however, I noticed that Naomi is nearing elderhood and realized with my current system I might not be able to replace her in time.  I had initially put becoming a seamstress ahead of becoming orphanage director for Merchant girls, but decided in light of the situation I should reverse those.  Since Peasants can't become director unless they grew up in the orphanage, I may very well need a Merchant girl to step in.  The prospects for Merchant girls are now as follows: #1-marry a Noble, #2-marry a Merchant, #3-become orphanage director, #4-become a seamstress, and #5-join the church.  Hopefully this will solve the problem.

We'll be going into a new round tomorrow, probably the last round before I move on to something new, unless I think of some new idea that I feel I need to implement lol.  Until then, Happy Simming!

RKC 6/16/20

Over at the courtesans' abode, Daisy gave birth to a son, Elias.  Later, Lily went down to the market and met up with George McMahon.  She brought him home for a date, which ended in dream date status, snagging her a payment of flowers.  The next day Daisy met Earl Potter and brought him home.  It was tough getting him to agree to a date, but finally he did, only to have one of the girls bring home his daughter Thelma from school.  It was super awkward and he left right away.  The next day, however, Daisy was able to have another date with him, which ended in a dream date/date flowers.  By the end of the round, Lily had aged to elder, Poppy became an adult, and Elias grew into a toddler.  Now that Lily is an elder, she won't seek out new dates anymore, but will still accommodate her regular clients if they come by.  Poppy will now start actively looking for dates.  At the end of the round I had Lily move out with Elias.  She'll drop him at the orphanage after I've played that household and then return here.

Happy Simming!

RKC 6/15/20

Earl and Jenna Potter's twins, Herman and Thelma grew into teens this round, making it possible to swap Thelma with Agnes Pratt.  In addition, Clifford (#4) grew into a child and the couple's fifth child, Gwyneth was born and grew into a toddler.  Baby #6 is on the way and ready to make an appearance next round.  You may be wondering why I'm moving teens in together before they can officially get married.  The reasoning is two-fold: firstly, Peasants need to move kids out as soon as they can to free up bed space and food resources and secondly, since Peasants need to have six children, it's helpful if intended spouses have a chance to get to know each other and build a relationship before reaching adulthood.  This allows them to get married immediately upon growing up and start their family.  Since all marriages are arranged (by me!) couples are often strangers so this makes sense to me.

Miles Potter was a quick play through since he's on his own at the moment.  He got a teen job and got his garden planted.  The rest of the round was spent tending to the garden and trying to keep up with his homework despite his social need bottoming out all the time.  He was moderately successful.  While he does need to cook for himself, I'm trying to limit that as much as possible by having him serve food and eat leftovers.  We don't want him gaining too many cooking points.  He eats at school and work anyway, so one bowl of mac and cheese will likely last a week.

Since I decided to set Nanette's wares to "very expensive" it's been easier on her keeping the shop stocked.  She only sells 4-6 items per night now, which means she can easily make what she needs to keep everything stocked for the next night.  In other news, Nanette got her silver robot badge!  One step closer to that Servo.

Happy Simming!

RKC 6/14/20

Today I played through Frederick and Mary Ann Pratt.  This round Agnes (#3), Edmund (#5), and Alfred (#6) grew into teen, child, and toddler respectively.  Agnes becoming a teen meant it was time to place her.  The only other Peasant family that she's not too closely related to is the (Earl & Jenna) Potter family.  Earl & Jenna's oldest children are twins, Herman and Thelma, who are still children.  I would usually just send Agnes off to the convent at this point, but I desperately need to make marriages, so I decided to go check on the twins' age.  Turns out they will be growing up this round as well, which means Agnes could marry Herman and Thelma could move to the Pratt house and marry Agnes' older brother Vernon.  That's two matches!  Woohoo!  Since Agnes has already been played this round, I've left her in the bin until after I play the Potters, who are up next.

Until then, Happy Simming!

RKC 6/12/20

We are back to Henry and Diana Potter today.  Henry became an elder just before his sixth and final child (a girl, Clara) was born.  Later in the round Oscar (#3), Felix (#5), and Clara all grew up into teen, child, and toddler respectively.  Oscar becoming a teen meant it was time to move him out.  Since there are no servant positions available, he's moving into the shack next to his older brother Miles, who moved out last time.  Since there are still nine shacks available, I don't think we'll be seeing any Peasant boys becoming monks any time soon.

This round David and Jozette's third child, Luke, grew into a teen and moved out to his own place at the end of the round.  Baby Paul became a toddler, and then a child later in the round.  They are down to four kids at home now: Philip (the heir), twins Anthony and Sarah (who are children), and Paul.  Still no luck on the marriage front for Philip, though he's still a teen so it's not dire yet.

Happy Simming!

RKC 6/11/20

The convents are always a thrill to report on, so much excitement.  In this heart-stopping round Geraldine Nero became an elder.  A few of the ladies maxed their skills; I have them max cooking, mechanical, and cleaning, and then study all the special skills like fire safety, anger management, etc.  Currently there are seven women in Convent #1 and six in #2, so we only have space for three more nuns at the moment.

I thought I'd get through the Potters today, but I didn't so they'll be up next time.  Happy Simming!

RKC 6/8/20

Last we heard from Steven and Cora Moore they had two sons - now they have four.  Yep, all boys for this family: Martin, Robert, Henry, and Christopher.  During this round Robert became a teen and Christopher became a child.  With no more little ones to care for Cora is able to get a lot more done around the house.  She even had time to work on her sewing this round.  Business at the pottery shop has really picked up as well.  Most days Steven sells out before noon.  Martin brings in extra cash with his after school job and though Robert got a job immediately after becoming a teen, he got fired on his first day and will have to find a new job next round.  We had a scary kitchen fire at one point, but Steven was able to put it out before it could do any real damage.

Since the last proper update on the boarding school, Cadence grew up and joined the church, and Arthur and Gwendolyn returned to the castle.  This round Nicholas finished his education and will be returning home to get a job and find a wife next round.  The three Nordstrom children (Rachel, Christian, and Destiny) remain at school.

Happy Simming!

RKC 6/7/20

Business in Daniel Moore's flower shop is booming; he is the wealthiest Merchant by far.  He'll be looking to make a good marriage for his daughter Charlotte soon.  With two Noble heirs coming of age, it would be a good opportunity to raise his family's status by marrying her to one of them.  Once that's done, the heir Luke will be next to age up and he'll need a wife as well, though he'll likely be looking to the Peasant class for his.  Their third child, Thomas, grew to teen this round and even though the family has more than enough money to send him to boarding school, they're not going to bother since the only reason to do it would be to snag the Headmaster position there.  That position is not open right now, so Thomas will probably be looking to start his own household eventually.  Their youngest daughter, Abigail, is only a child at the moment so it remains to be seen what her fate will be.

I want to pause here for a moment, because yesterday I came up with an idea that I'm going to put into place this round and it may require that I play another round as well.  Last update it was determined that Chastity McMahon would be joining the church and I mentioned that I didn't know what I was going to do with so many girls, given that the convents are nearly full.  What I came up with is creating a household of unmarried Merchant class women who will run a seamstress shop.  Chastity McMahon will be the first.  This gives Merchant girls another option other than the church, allowing them to continue to be available for marriage (until they reach a certain age), and preventing the churches from becoming overrun.  I will still have men choose marriage candidates from private homes first (they'd want the youngest, most docile wives of course), but the girls at the seamstress shop can still hope right?  I'll get Chastity settled this round, but she was already played so she won't get played for the first time until next round, which means I guess I'm playing one more round after this one.

Onward!  Matthew Moore is finally able to run his bakery full-time.  He's not making a ton of money just yet, but he's not doing too badly either.  Now that all the kids are in school and there are no more babies on the horizon, Meredythe is able to help out a lot more; she even earned a couple more cooking points this round in order to broaden their offerings in the shop.  The three older children are all teens who are bringing in extra income with their teen jobs; the youngest girl, Andrea, is not far behind.

That's all for today.  Happy Simming!

Friday, June 5, 2020

RKC 6/5/20

Nothing particularly exciting happened with the Nordstroms.  Mostly they're just waiting for their son Christian to return home from boarding school and take over as heir.  This round Christopher and Faith both became elders and Christopher retired from his job since Nobles are allowed to collect a pension.  Their servant Theresa is a bit younger than them so she won't be aging up until next round or the round after.

Father Ian is still on his own at the monastery.  It's pretty lonely for him, but his brother Adam stops by frequently for visit which really helps to boost his sagging social needs.  Though we do have quite a few spare boys in the Merchant community, I doubt any of them will be coming to the monastery as there are plenty of Merchant homes available.  When Ian gets old I may have to force someone to join the church just to keep it going after his death.

The McMahons had a successful round business-wise; the toy shop is up to rank 9, Adam earned his gold toymaking badge, and they brought in a tidy sum.  Adam and Frances also became elders this round, while their oldest child Chastity became an adult.  However, since there are no eligible marriage partners at the moment, she joined the church at the end of the round.  At this point, both convents are near full and I have no idea what to do with the excess girls; there are only two spots left and definitely more girls than that who will be without marriage opportunities.  I'm thinking it might be a good idea to create a few more single males for the Noble, Merchant, and Peasant classes.

Happy Simming!

RKC 6/4/20

Not much to report today.  Josephine Nero and her servant Gabriel are still alone in the house, waiting for Nicholas to return home and get the next generation going.  Josephine turned 60 and Gabriel grew into adulthood, but other than that nothing of note happened.  I think (hope) Nicholas will be back next round.  Next up: the Nordstroms.

Happy Simming!

RKC 6/3/20

A new round began today with the Royal family.  I'm thinking this may be my final round in this 'hood before heading off to something else.  The Royals had a very tame round.  Winifred, James, and Caroline all reached 60 and their servant Duncan became an elder as well.  When he reaches the halfway point on his life bar I'll bring in a new servant for him to "train" before he dies.  The "training" consists of the new servant using the SimVac (I call it the Skill Sucker, lol) on Duncan to literally learn everything he knows.  As for the young King Arthur, it doesn't look like he'll be getting married until he's about 60-70 days himself.  Here's to hoping he lives long enough to produce an heir.  On the bright side, at least all the extra old folks will be cleared out by then.  When I return to the RKC I plan to build a second (less grand) castle where spare (male) royals can go to live.  It will be an apartment with four units, allowing Royals to eventually marry other Royals as the bloodline gets diluted enough.  This will hopefully help to keep the main castle from getting filled up with spares because I can marry princesses off to their Royal second cousins or whatever.  Not to mention that the King will have more options when choosing a wife.

Until next time, Happy Simming!

RKC 6/1/20

Nanette Peterson (aka the witch) had a productive round.  She made a good bit of money in her shop, learned several new spells/craftables, and worked on her robot badge.  I hope she'll eventually get to gold so she can make a Servo to take care of all the day to day tasks, so she doesn't have to waste precious reagents summoning the spectral assistant.

This round I had the courtesans go out to the market to seek out some dates.  Daisy immediately snagged Daniel Moore, who she's dated before, and she also managed to bring home none other than King Arthur for her cousin Lily.  I suppose I should talk about the family tree a bit here.  The original courtesans were sisters Jasmine and Willow Pratt.  They each had a daughter, Lily and Daisy, who are the current courtesans (Jasmine and Willow have passed on).  Lily and Daisy have had four children between them, the first two girls belonging to Lily.  Their names are Poppy and Tulip and they will be the next generation of courtesans (right now they're teens).  The other children were sent to the orphanage (one has grown up and become a servant, the other is still there).  I don't generally pay much attention to the paternity of these children, as I figure their mothers wouldn't likely know (or care) who the fathers are.  Since sims always know who they're related to I don't really have to worry about marrying anyone off to their half-brother or anything.  Back to the current round - Daisy had a date with Daniel, Lily had one with Arthur and later George McMahon (the headmaster at the boarding school), which resulted in two dream date flowers, one love letter, a flamingo, a dance sphere, and a pregnancy for Daisy.  Lily is too old to get pregnant again and this may very well be Daisy's last, though she might just squeeze in one more before she gets too old.

The current orphanage director, Naomi Pratt, has lived in the orphanage her whole life.  She currently has just one charge, Caleb Pratt, who I think is the son of Naomi's cousin Daisy.  Caleb grew to teen this round and is ready to move into a Peasant shack and start looking for a wife.  Moving teens in TS2 is a bit tricky, so I'll wait for next round to move him, since I know Daisy will be dropping off her latest spawn.  She can pick up Caleb and drop him off before returning home.

That's all for today.  Happy Simming!
