Spring Valley 6/30/24

700 Chapel Hill:  David and Scarlett are getting on in years and it will soon be time for a new minister to take over.  David had hoped that it would one of his sons, but they're all choosing their own paths.  Isaac and Timothy both moved out to start tomato farms at the end of spring and, while David is very happy for them, he can't help but be a bit disappointed that none of his sons are following in his footsteps.  All hope is not lost, as he still has two sons left at home.

Spring Valley 6/27/24

100 Creek Dr:  Ruth never thought she'd see the day when a baby girl was born into the family, so she was surprised to gain two granddaughters this spring, first Polly, then Louise. Theresa is expecting baby #3 and, while Warren naturally wants a son, his mother is secretly hoping for another girl.  Joseph decided to start an apple orchard and moved out to get his own household established.  This leaves just Arthur left, but he's young still and not yet ready to leave the nest.

Spring Valley 6/24/24

100 Grove Rd:  Ezra and Joanna had a baby boy, Jeremiah.  Unfortunately, they did not have enough money to expand the orchard this year, meaning they'll be struggling to make ends meet once again, with barely enough food harvested to feed the family and little to sell.  And now they have a tax bill hanging over their heads as well.  Ezra fears he'll have to ask his cousin David for help.

Spring Valley 6/22/24

500 Grove Rd:  James and Gretchen had twins this winter, Donna and Luke.  Gretchen is feeling a bit overwhelmed with caring for them, cooking, cleaning, and making pottery to sell.  Luckily, her friend Joy has come by more than once to help out.  She's really looking forward to spring, when James and Walter will likely be preoccupied with the orchard, rather than always underfoot.

Spring Valley 6/21/24

500 Pine St:  Thomas and Wilhelmina Adams got married at the beginning of winter.  Thomas has been trying to work on getting his fields ready for spring, but it's been tough with so much snow on the ground.  The newlyweds took some time to attend the Winter Festival before their first child, Cornelia, was born.  Now that they're parents, it's more important than ever for Thomas to become a successful farmer.  After all, they can't live off Wilhelmina's flower arrangements forever.

400 Grove Rd:  Shane Johnson has his new home ready and waiting for his bride (Michelle Adams) to join him in spring, but in the meantime, he's had to suffer through an interminable winter.  There's not much to do in the orange grove with all the trees dormant.  He did attend the Winter Festival, but didn't really see what all the hype was about.

Spring Valley 6/20/24

600 Chestnut Way:  Simon and Danielle Adams celebrated their wedding with all their family in attendance.  By the end of winter, they had a son named Jeremy and another baby on the way.  Simon spent as much time with his new bride and new baby as he could before he has to leave in spring to head to the mining camp.  Simon's parents promised to look after Danielle and the babies while he's gone.

Spring Valley 6/19/24

300 Grove Rd:  Richard Ford got settled into his new home, though it's been pretty lonely.  He's used to living in a lively household full of brothers and now he's on his own.  At least he'll be getting married to Isabella Ford in spring, and hopefully they'll be having a house full of kids of their own in no time.

Spring Valley 6/18/24

100 Mine Camp Rd:  Norman and Violet got married and welcomed their son Victor this winter.  Before the baby was born, however, they travelled into town for a few days in order to take care of some errands, allow Norman to meet with the mayor and the town council, get his shop up and running, and attend the Winter Festival.  They stayed at the inn, which was quite comfortable, and spent some time with family, as they won't be seeing them again for quite some time; the trek up and down the mountain is difficult and they can only manage is once per year, so they'll be on their own until next winter.

500 Chestnut Way:  Gabriel returned home for the winter and did his best to squeeze in as much time with his wife and daughter as possible before he leaves again in spring.  Mining is a fairly lucrative job, especially when rare artifacts are found, but it does come with a cost.  Jean delivered another baby girl, Lily, and is expecting the couple's third child, which Gabriel hopes will be his heir.  Jean is glad that Rose is old enough now to help out around the house, which will leave her more time for her sewing, because even their finances look good now, she knows she has to get through three seasons on her own and she'll need some income to keep the household running until Gabriel returns.

200 Farm Acre Rd:  Aaron and Claudia had barely celebrated their wedding vows, then they became the parents of twin boys, Justin and Kyle.  By the end of winter, Claudia was already expecting again.  She's got her work cut out for her already.

Spring Valley 6/16/24

100 Chapel Hill:  Mayor Curtis Johnson and his wife welcomed a son, Brandon, this winter.  In addition, they attended the Winter Festival and took some time to mingle with the townsfolk.  The mayor met with his council, as well as Gabriel Johnson, who found some very rare artifacts while mining.  The artifacts were turned over to the town and Mayor Johnson paid Gabriel a handsome finder's fee.  Property taxes will be going into effect the first of spring and Curtis has decided that this year the farmers will be getting a discount.  Some of the townspeople believe that this decision is based on the fact that the mayor's brother, who is a member of the council, also happens to be a farmer.

Spring Valley 6/14/24

PBH Unit #1 (500 Chapel Hill):  The ladies had a nice time at the Winter Festival.  Jane was glad to make that memory with her sister, because it turns out it was their last happy time together.  Gertrude passed away at the age of 66, leaving behind three siblings.  She left her savings to her cousin Patience.

PBH Unit #2 (500 Chapel Hill):  Cadence Jefferson passed away at the age of 71.  She leaves behind one brother.  She left her small savings to her nephew Daniel in the hopes that it'll do him and his family some good come spring planting time.

PBH Unit #3 (500 Chapel Hill):  Clara Ford passed away at age 66.  She leaves behind a brother and three sisters.  She decided to leave her savings to her brother Nathaniel.  As the town's very first teacher, Clara will be sorely missed.

Primrose Boarding House (500 Chapel Hill):  As the town continues to grow, so does Joy's business.  It means more work, but luckily, she finds her work very rewarding.  She's also happy to see that some of the residents are getting along better, though there is still some squabbling to contend with.

Spring Valley 6/11/24

400 Main St:  Patience was overjoyed to hear the news that her son Ethan has indeed been appointed as the new headmaster.  She knows her husband would be so proud of his son.  Temperance will be married to Jesse Adams in the spring and Ethan will marry Amanda Adams not long after.  Finally, Patience can rest easy.  It's been a long road, but she made it through.

Spring Valley 6/10/24

400 Pine St:  Tyler reached adulthood this winter, which means he'll be getting married and taking over the farm in the near future, but in the meantime, he'll be helping his father get the spring planting done.  Nora is happy to see her children growing up; now that all but one are in school, it's much easier to get all her work done during the day.  She occasionally thinks of having another, but doesn't really think it's in the cards for them.

Spring Valley 6/9/24

200 Grove Rd:  The Jeffersons gained a family member, baby Glenn, but also lost one, Doris.  Doris passed away at the age of 63; she leaves behind four siblings, six children, and six grandchildren, though little Glenn was born after she died.  Liam is devastated at the loss of his wife; he always thought he'd be the one to go first.  However, despite their grief, the family is trying to hold onto the good in their lives.  They have a new baby, the heir they've been hoping for, they have each other, and they are financially stable.

Spring Valley 6/8/24

100 Farm Acre Rd:  Clay and Bethany are still struggling with their finances, but they're making the best of things.  The family enjoyed a day off at the Winter Festival in which Bethany entered the cooking contest and the others had a blast playing various games with other residents of the town.  Oldest son Marcel has reached adulthood and is looking forward to helping his father get the spring planting done as soon as the snow clears.  A good harvest in summer could go a long way towards moving this family forward.

Spring Valley 6/7/24

300 Pine St:  Andrew and Chloe got married and had a baby girl, Natalie, this winter.  They wasted no time getting pregnant again, as Andrew needs his heir.  Penelope made several flower arrangements to sell to both the general store and the boutique.  Andrew is hopeful that his sister Rachel will be able to get caught up on the payments she owes him by spring.

Spring Valley 6/5/24

200 Pine St:  Ernest and Virginia are getting up there in age.  They have three grandchildren already and are looking forward to more come spring.  Their son Jesse will be getting married to Temperance Ford soon and, no doubt there will be a little one on the way before they know it.  Virginia was glad to spend hours a day in front of the stove baking for once, as the bitter cold outside was not to her liking.  Her hard work will pay off in the spring, when they'll hopefully have enough money to expand the crop field a bit.

Spring Valley 6/3/24

100 Pine St:  Charity has become a very skilled potter and, consequently, she was able to stockpile quite a few pieces for Nathaniel to sell to the local shops.  Nathaniel has continued with his toymaking as well, though he's still just a beginner, so he's not able to make anything too advanced.  In other news, the couple's oldest daughter Iris is set to become the town's very first librarian.  She will move to the apartment above the new library building and begin work in the spring.  Their daughter Elizabeth will be marrying Michael Adams in the spring also.  Two down, four to go.

Spring Valley 6/2/24

300 Old Mill Ln:  The family had a great time at the Winter Festival.  Madeline is convinced that her dish will win.  Shortly thereafter, Jude and Gabrielle's second son, Levi, was born.  Unfortunately, Luke didn't have much time to bond with his newest grandson because he passed away at the age of 68.  He leaves behind two sisters, seven children, and six grandchildren.
