Spring Valley 4/29/24

200 Grove Rd:  Brody and Lydia had a baby girl, Alice, not the heir Brody was hoping for, but a joy nonetheless.  His mother is having a blast spoiling her newest grandchild.  Brody's fears were allayed a bit by the large payment Rachel was able to make and he's hoping for another one come winter.  His mother has been making some lovely flower arrangements lately and his father has even gotten in on the act by making some toys to sell, not to mention Brody's income as a councilman, so they should be financially stable for a long while to come.

Spring Valley 4/28/24

100 Farm Acre Rd:  Clay and Bethany welcomed two more daughters this fall, first Elise, and then Chelsea.  Thanks to Clay's brother Curtis (the mayor), they now have all their furniture back, so things are looking up.  They didn't have much to sell to the general store though, so they won't be receiving a payment come winter.  Hopefully they'll be okay with what they have, and there's always the possibility that Bethany will win the cooking contest at the Winter Festival that's recently been announced.

Spring Valley 4/25/24

300 Pine St:  Andrew has another amazing harvest under his belt, and Penelope is getting better at flower arranging as well.  Their winter payment will be quite sizable indeed, which is great news because Andrew will be getting married this winter to Chloe Johnson and they will likely have some little mouths to feed in no time at all.

Spring Valley 4/23/24

200 Pine St:  Ernest and Virginia welcomed their final child, Albert, this fall.  Their oldest daughter, Gabrielle, is already married with a child of her own, and their second daughter, Tabitha, is set to marry Mayor Curtis Johnson in the near future.  Their third child, Wilhelmina, will also be getting married in the winter, so there will likely be many grandchildren coming their way in the coming years.  Financially, they're still riding high on last season's windfall, and are looking forward to a nice payment come winter as well.

Spring Valley 4/21/24

100 Pine St:  Nathaniel got a substantial payment from the general store for his harvest, allowing him to buy materials to make some toys, as well as the clay needed for Charity's pottery.  Together, they crafted quite a few items to sell, in addition to the small crop of peppers harvested.  Luck was also on their sides, as Nathaniel came across an old lamp one day while raking, and it turned out to be pretty valuable.  This branch of the Ford family is thriving and well-prepared as they head into another winter in Spring Valley.

Spring Valley 4/18/24

300 Old Mill Ln:  Jude harvested a substantial tomato crop this fall, in addition to his mother's baking.  It will make for a good payment to get them through the winter.  Chloe has nearly finalized her wedding plans to Andrew Jefferson and should be settled in there by winter. Shane is also moving out to start his own orange grove.  Luke and Madeline can't believe how quickly their family is growing.  They'll only have one little bird left in the nest (apart from their heir Jude) come winter, and even she will be nearly grown by then.  Time really does fly.

Spring Valley 4/16/24

200 Old Mill Ln:  Things have quieted down a bit now, as Hope and Lucy have finally reached some sort of peaceful resolution.  They're not best friends, but they've learned to co-exist with one another.  Claudia is set to marry Aaron Jefferson this winter.  Samuel is getting up there in age, but he's still hanging in there.  Hope is still sewing and made several potholders and a couple of teddy bears for Daniel to sell to the boutique.  They won't be getting a huge payment come winter, but they'll make the most of what they have, as they always do.

Spring Valley 4/15/24

100 Old Mill Ln:  Theresa has finally finished her wedding plans to Warren Ford and will be moving to her new husband's home.  Thomas has decided to farm cucumbers for a living and is moving to his new farm.  He'll be getting married soon (to Wilhelmina Adams) as well, so there will likely be more grandchildren for Anna on the way in the very near future.  She fears she won't be able to meet any of them, not even the one already on the way in her own household, because lately she's been feeling her age more than ever before and she suspects she doesn't have much time left.

Spring Valley 4/13/24

300 Main St:  Rachel is finally getting a handle on running the shop.  She decided to get rid of the coffee bar and put some extra stock in its place, which brought in some much-needed extra income.  She wasn't able to completely catch everyone up, but she was able to give them each a large enough payment that they feel confident she's good for the rest of the money she owes them.  Danielle is set to marry Simon Adams in winter, and Seth is finally in school, making things at home a bit easier for everyone.

Spring Valley 4/11/24

200 Creek Dr:  Lee and Fiona welcomed a baby girl, who they decided to name Julia, after the woman who, despite her own tragedies in life, gave everything she had to make sure they had a good start in life.  Lee brought in a pretty good catch and Fiona's sewing skills are improving every day, allowing for her to work on some more advanced projects.  Life is good and they are looking forward to the birth of their third child.

Spring Valley 4/10/24

1500 Main St (Spring Valley Inn):  Graham and Mercy had another son, Silas.  Victoria couldn't be a happier grandma.  The inn is still doing well, and Victoria still makes her healing soup for the town, so the family is financially stable.  They did have a close call, however, when Graham was burning some leaves.  His pantleg caught fire and before he knew it, he was ablaze.  Victoria sprang into action; she wasn't about to let history repeat itself (her husband Owen died in the same manner).  She was able to contain the fire and save her son's life.  He'll need some time to heal from his burns, but he's alive.

Spring Valley 4/7/24

700 Chapel Hill:  Simon reached adulthood this fall and decided to pursue mining as his trade.  He moved out to get his new home established and ready for his bride-to-be.  David was appointed to the town council in the wake of Christopher Adams' death.  He hopes he'll be able to juggle council meetings along with his other responsibilities as the town's minister.  Scarlett finally has some breathing room with all the kids in school, but not for long as she's recently discovered she's pregnant.

Spring Valley 4/6/24

100 Creek Dr:  Charles was disappointed not to get his full payment from the general store, but he does understand that times are tough for Rachel in the wake of her husband's death and he's willing to give her some time.  Hopefully things will get back on track soon.  In the meantime, they'll make do with what they have, which means the renovation will have to wait a bit longer.  In other news, Charles and Ruth welcomed their eighth and final child - another boy - Arthur, Richard moved out to start his own household (he's going to be an orange grove owner), and Warren is set to get married to Theresa Adams come winter.

Spring Valley 4/3/24

100 Chapel Hill:  Mayor Curtis Johnson has big plans for the town of Spring Valley.  His first order of business was to appoint a council to help run things.  He chose one man from each district to be a councilman: his brother Clay to represent the farmers, Brody Jefferson for the grove owners, Charles Ford for the fishermen, David Adams to represent business owners, and Norman Ford for the miners.  The councilmen will receive a small payment each season for their services.  The first decision made by Curtis and his council was to use a section of land behind the church to hold a winter festival, where townspeople can celebrate together, get to know one another, and have some fun.  In order to pay for the construction of the fairgrounds, however, the mayor had to impose property taxes on the residents of Spring Valley, which will come due the first of spring.  In the meantime, he secured a loan to pay for the initial building needed on the land.  He has many other ideas for improving the town but wants to focus on getting the loan paid back first.  On a personal note, Curtis used some of his own funds to replace the furnishings that were stolen/repossessed from his brother's home, and he has officially begun plans for his wedding to Tabitha Adams.

100 Grove Rd:  Ezra had a slightly larger apple harvest for fall, allowing him to sell just a few apples to the general store in addition to his mother's flowers.  They'll have a pretty decent payment coming in just in time for winter to set in.  Ezra's younger sister Violet is planning her wedding to Norman Ford, the newly appointed mine overseer, so she'll be leaving the nest soon.  The whole family is looking forward to the Winter Festival that was announced by the mayor.  They hear they'll be games and a cooking competition.

Spring Valley 4/2/24

PBH Unit #2 (500 Chapel Hill):  Cadence is really feeling her age these days; getting up and down the stairs is really becoming a challenge for her.  Katherine is not far behind her; she envies Rebecca's seemingly boundless energy.

PBH Unit #3 (500 Chapel Hill):  Things are still a bit chaotic, as Naomi and Amelia still aren't getting along with one another.  Clara's glad she has her teaching job, because dealing with children all day is far easier than refereeing the constant squabbles between her roommates.

Spring Valley 4/1/24

Primrose Boarding House (500 Chapel Hill):  Joy is getting the hang of running the shop and the boarding house, though she didn't receive much supply this season, as farmers are dedicating their funds to planting their fields.  She's doing okay though financially.  She's a little sad from time to time, as she watches her sisters with their husbands and children, but she knows that life doesn't always work out the way you expect, and you just have to make the best of the situation you're given.

PBH Unit #1 (500 Chapel Hill):  Gertrude and Jane both got hired on as teachers at the local school, so Molly decided to throw her hat in the ring as well and put in her application.  Patience told her there was a good chance she'd be hired, but since there's only one position remaining, there might be some competition for the job.
