Goldstein: Betty Goldstein lives alone at 204 Old Farm Rd. She inherited the farm from her parents with whom she lived. Betty has always been solitary, preferring to read or write environmental texts, rather than go out or have parties. She was very close to her parents and their deaths have left her feeling even more isolated. Her closest friend is Catherine Viejo, though they don't see one another as much as they used to because Catherine's family keeps her busy. Betty used to dream of having a husband and children someday, but at this point in her life, she feels that someday has already passed her by.
Roth: Sara Roth lives at 208 Welsh Lane with her teen son Shane. Sara has suffered a lot of tragedy in her life. First, her son Morty died of food poisoning while at college. She and her husband Cassidy were devastated by the loss of their only child. So it was with bittersweet joy that they welcomed another son, Shane, a short time later. However, when Shane was just a child, Cassidy was struck by lightning and killed instantly. Sara was heartbroken once more. Since then, she has devoted her life to her child, foregoing relationships and even friendships. Lately, however, she's begun to wonder what life will be like once Shane leaves home and she's all alone?
Shikibu/Martin: Nobutaka and Victoria Shikibu live at 202 Welsh Lane with their daughter Cleo and her new husband Andrew Martin. Since Cleo is their only child, they were keen on her moving back to the family home after college. It seemed like a good deal to Andrew, whose parents are divorced, and neither would have room for them. Life has been such a whirlwind for the young couple lately. They graduated college, moved in with Cleo's parents, got married, Andrew got drafted to the minor leagues, and they just found out that Cleo is pregnant. Life is good.
O'Mackey: Prudence and Seth O'Mackey live at 211 Huckleberry Lane with their younger son, Gabe, and his wife* Elizabeth. Gabe and Liz moved in with them after graduation, right on the heels of their older son, Jason, and his family moving out. Prudence misses her grandchildren terribly, but is hopeful that maybe she'll have some more in the near future? She doesn't know Liz that well, but she definitely admires her spunk. The first thing she did upon settling in was to apply for a job with the RHPD. They didn't have any openings, but Prudence, who is a desk sergeant, was happy to put in a good word for her, so as soon as something opens up, she's sure to get it. Gabe has his heart set on opening a movie theater in Riverblossom Hills. He purchased a small lot in town near the bookstore and has been overseeing the construction. He can't wait to get it up and running.
Viejo: Catherine and Julio Viejo live on a small farm at 202 Town Center Rd. with two of their three daughters. Their oldest daughter, Lucia, was sent to live with Catherine's sister, Victoria Shikibu, when she was in high school because they just didn't have the means to support her. While she was living with her aunt and uncle, Lucia became very close to her cousin Cleo, a friendship that endures to this day. Charlotte is now in high school and her baby sister, Margarita, is brand new. The family's finances have improved in recent years, so neither Charlotte, nor Margarita, should have to be shipped off to relatives.
Chesterson: James and Sally Chesterson are empty nesters who live at 147 Huckleberry Lane. Their two daughters are grown. Stella lives in Bluewater Village with her boyfriend and her son, while Samantha** is married, living in Veronaville, and expecting her first child. Sally always wanted to have a third child, but time is running out for that. At least she's made something of a name for herself as a painter, which is more than she can say for her philandering husband, who has been working in the fast-food industry for most of his adult life.
Augustine: Frida and Miguel Augustine live at 125 Huckleberry Lane with their teen son Jose. Their adult daughter Elena lives Downtown. The Augustines have always struggled financially, a situation that has been made even worse over the past decade because Frida was turned into a vampire. They obviously could not afford a coffin for her rest in, so she had to fight to stay alive on a daily basis, leaving her exhausted at work. Consequently, holding down a job for any length of time has been challenging. When Miguel heard that the matchmaker might have a cure for vampirism, he dipped into their precious savings to buy a potion from her. Then he and Jose begged Frida to take it and regain her life. She agreed and, miraculously, the potion worked, returning her to normal. Now if only she can get her old job back...
Martin/Caliente: Linda Martin and Tango Caliente live at 102 Firefly Pass with their two daughters, Sharon and Pamela. Linda also has an adult son, Andrew, from her first marriage, who has recently married into the Shikibu family. Linda and Tango met through their jobs in athletics and there was an instant connection. Linda was still married at the time, but that didn't stop her from going after what she wanted. Her husband caught her in the act and their divorce was swift and final. Tango moved in right away (he'd been living with his brother and sister-in-law and their six children, so he was more than ready to get out of there) and they learned Linda was pregnant shortly thereafter. Their relationship is tumultuous, to say the least. They are both unfaithful, but always seem to come back together in the end. In fact, Linda recently discovered that she is pregnant yet again.
*I think I mentioned this before, but Elizabeth can't actually get married for some reason, so I'm treating them as husband and wife until (hopefully) they're able to make it official.
**Samantha "Ottomas" was added to the Chesterson family.
Happy Simming!
