The Kekahi/London household started out slowly with Ivy running the bar (getting it to rank 8), Randy continuing to work in Law Enforcement (earning one promotion), and the twins hanging around together all day. Mid-week, however, Marina died at the age of 73, followed the very next day by Kalen at age 74. Davon is now the only one of the founder's six kids still alive. After her husband died, Ivy came to the realization that she's gay and she began a relationship with townie Kaylynn Spitzig. She moved her in on the last day of the week.
At this point I made a decision that will hopefully solve some problems. Since Ian (and Megan) will be taking over the household when he grows up next week, I had Ivy go ahead and pass the bar over to him. Then, once I've played the Lanes until the end of the week, I'll have Mckenna (who is best friends with Ivy) move Ivy and Kaylynn into the Lane household. Since only Maya and Mckenna are left in the household and they're both elders, bringing in Kaylynn will be very helpful. It's also good that Kaylynn has tinkering as her hobby, which means she's a natural fit to take Ticket to Ride off Maya's hands. I don't expect Ivy to live more than about a week, which means it's likely Kaylynn will end up with someone else in time and she'll have a nice big house in which to raise a family. It makes more sense to me than having Kaylynn ultimately living here, where she's not related to anyone, and also having the Lane house go dark with no heir to take over.
In other news, Ian continued to go steady with Carolina Hastings. Megan brought (new CAS) Bryce Janson home from school with her and they have two bolts. However, Ian brought their cousin Amelia home the same day and Amelia went after Bryce with a vengeance (they're now in crush) and Megan didn't stand a chance.
On a side note, the twins' graves brought the total to 15, which opened up another useless position in Paranormal. Their taxes were $6,601.00, bringing the total community funds to $64,131.00.
Next up, the Lane family.
It took Maya Lane until Thursday to FINALLY get promoted to Business Tycoon, which not only opens up Business to everyone, but also officially opens the Business District, gaining +5 to the SM, earning +5 CAS, and allowing businesses to be built there. She only had one day available to run Ticket to Ride, but she got it up one rank to level 2. Mckenna was also busy with her Dance career, achieving several promotions and ending the week as a Ballroom Dancer. She too only spent one day at her business, maintaining rank 5.
At the end of the week, I had Mckenna move Ivy Kekahi and Kaylynn Spitzig in. Next round I'll have Maya hand off Ticket to Ride to Kaylynn, who will have more time and interest in running it.
Taxes were $7,542.00, bringing the total to $71,673.00.
Next up, Daniel Drew.
Daniel spent all his free time working on robotics. I really want him to craft a Servo. I'm not overly fond of Servos and don't plan to use them too often in this 'hood, but I think it makes sense that Daniel would want to create a companion for himself, since he's not great at making friends. Unfortunately, despite making 60+ robots, he still hasn't earned his gold badge. Maybe next week. Apart from robot making, Daniel continued to work in Gaming, earning one promotion.
Daniel's taxes were $954.00, bringing the total to $72.627.00.
