Pleasantview 10/31/20

Happy Halloween!  Today we're playing the homeless shelter (see PV 8/31/20).

Melissa Fancey and her kids had a great round.  It started with the kids inheriting some money from Stephen Tinker, who they befriended when he lived at the shelter.  Melissa had an early morning shift and came home with a promotion.  After school, Dalton went off to his first shift, bringing in a little more money.  Cheyenne is unable to get a job because her grades are too low.  However, because of the promotion, Melissa had another shift at night and she got promoted again!  Altogether they brought in over $1300.  I'd like them to save a little bit more before moving out, but I think they'll be ready in the next few days.

Ricky Cormier did not find a job in Culinary, but worked his Adventure job, bringing home a paycheck which is better than nothing.  He won't be leaving anytime soon.

Alvin Broke is new here, having just been released from prison recently.  Since Criminal is his LTW, he went straight after a job in Criminal again, getting it and working his first shift.  He's unlikely to save up much money before being arrested, so he'll probably be headed right back there in the near future.

Monica Bratford also worked her first shift in Criminal this round.  She has a slightly better chance of earning enough money for legal fees (especially if she gets promoted), but it doesn't look good for her either.

Andrzej Greaves had the day off from work, which did not help his situation at all.  He's also sick with a mysterious disease and his life bar is creeping steadily closer to the end.  Sunshine and roses, really.

Jessie Pilferson did not find the Music job she wants, but she did get promoted in her Show Business job, so that's something positive.

Max Flexor unfortunately got demoted due to a bad chance card.  Better luck next round, Max.

Moon Broke had the day off from her Gamer job and wasn't able to find Dance in the paper.  She just hung out with Andrzej all day.

That's all for the homeless shelter.  Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/30/20

Morgan Alpha (see PV 8/30/20) had an uneventful day.  She worked, looked for the job of her choice (didn't find it), and had her first pop.

Greg and Martin Dreamer (see PV 8/30/20) had an equally uneventful round.  Greg had the day off and didn't find a job in Entertainment.  They both spent most of the their time hanging out on the rooftop or playing games on the computer.

Ashley Pitts (see PV 8/30/20) worked all day then headed out to the club.  He chatted up a couple of ladies, but ultimately struck out.  Better luck next round, Ash.

Jared Starchild (see PV 8/31/20) scored a promotion at work and then had a first date with Tosha Go.  They ended up with a "great" rating and both in crush.  I think this might end up being a good match, as they're both Family sims.  Apart from work and his date, Jared also decided to adopt a dog.

Jimmy Phoenix (see PV 8/31/20) went to work and earned a much needed promotion this round, while Allegra took a vacation day to stay home with the twins.  That night while Jimmy slept, Allegra found the job she's been waiting for...as a Criminal.  I'm sure she thinks this will help her little family, but in all likelihood it will destroy it.  Since they don't have enough money to pay good attorneys, Allegra will likely be locked up before long, leaving Jimmy on his own with the kids.

Bryce Futa (see PV 8/31/20) spent most of the day sick in bed, but rallied enough to go off to work in the afternoon.  It paid off because he earned a promotion.  Upon returning home, he rolled the want to study physiology, which is pretty smart for someone working in Athletic, so I let him do it.  As a result, he didn't have time to actually earn the body point he needs, but it'll only take a few seconds to do that before work next round, so I think he's covered.  He still hasn't saved enough to start his GED, but one more promotion will likely do it.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/29/20

Gunnar Roque and Jasmine Rai (see PV 8/28/20) had an uneventful round.  They both had the day off and were sick.  They got invited out bowling which was fun, but the rest of their time was spent taking turns vomiting and napping.  The mysterious disease is never going away in this town.

Calvin Latte (see PV 8/29/20) had the day off from work, so he went on an outing with a friend.  While he was out he met a couple of new sims, but no one that he really hit it off with.  After he returned home, one of the sims he'd met (Phyllis Gieke) called him and they chatted for a bit.  They have negative chemistry though, so I don't really see a future there.

Kevin Beare (see PV 8/29/20) had a pretty good day.  He got a promotion and then went out bowling with friends.  At the rate he's going, he might be able to get a better place soon.

Caryl Grundstrom (see PV 8/29/20) went to work, but didn't get promoted.  She also didn't find her desired career in Business.  She's still pretty broke, but I think she'll have enough to make the rent when it comes due.

Roxie Sharpe has just moved into Las Casas after breaking up with her boyfriend Jonah Powers.  She didn't find a job in Culinary, but took Architecture in the meantime.  She spent the day hanging out with a friend, but ultimately decided she's not cut out for living alone and decided to move in with Phineaus Furley.  Since his apartment at Melrose is nicer, she'll move there.  We'll see how long that lasts, given she's also seeing Max Flexor.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/28/20

Ben Tellerman (see PV 8/28/20) had an uneventful day.  He hung out around the complex all morning, went to work in the afternoon, and went to bed.  He didn't get promoted, but he's on track to pay the rent come Monday, so that's better than a lot of the folks who live here.

Phineaus Furley (see PV 8/28/20) had his first day of work this round.  He brought home just over $600 and his first purchase was a bed.  He can't quite afford a bookcase, however, so he'll have to scrub the toilet for the cleaning skill he needs.  On the bright (?) side he has the mysterious disease so he's constantly dirtying up the toilet.

Since we last caught up with Will Bruty (see PV 8/28/20), his friend Quinn Leong has moved in with him.  After that disastrous outing, Quinn's girlfriend kicked him out, so here he is.  Will promptly decided (per the new rules) that the most sensible thing for a single guy, with no serious relationship and very little cash, to do would be to have a child.  He grew a plant baby and got a little more than he bargained for because he ended up with twin girls, Anna and Ella.  Since he and Quinn work similar hours, he'll have to pay for a nanny for the next few days, but then they'll grow up and get jobs, so maybe it wasn't such a crazy idea after all?

Emily Lee (see PV 8/28/20) had a date with one of her boyfriends (Tom Freshe) and then went off to work, where she earned a promotion.  It was a good thing she did because, not only did she have a hefty loan payment to make and bills to pay, but she was robbed as well.  The thief was caught and she got some money, but she had to shell out several hundred dollars to replace her belongings.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/27/20

Update: After playing through Joel, Chaz, and Tom again, the only changes were that Joel did not get his pay docked, Tom got a good chance card that gave him $4000, and both Tom and Chaz found their desired jobs after midnight.

Arianna and Zoe Bruty (see PV 8/27/20) welcomed a daughter into their family this round.  Her name is Jeannie and she's a toddler.  Since Arianna had the day off, they both had plenty of time to spend with their new addition.  Of course, they didn't get too much skilling done, but Arianna will be off again next round, so she can work on it then.

With bills looming, Guy Wrightley (see PV 8/28/20) had to get a job.  He chose a job in the Artist career because it had morning hours, allowing him to work his business at night.  Next round he'll be expected to come up with a business loan payment, as well as a student loan payment, and bills will also be due.  I don't really think that's going to happen, so he'll likely be adding a lot of interest onto his loans.  Hopefully his new job will help.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/26/20

Meredith Landgraab (see PV 8/27/20) just barely made the rent payment this round after so many days off in a row.  Over the next few days she'll use up her vacation time before retiring, which will at least bring in some decent cash.  Not a moment too soon either, since they need groceries, bills will be due soon, and once Meredith retires her income will shrink significantly.  Good thing Carter stays on top of the kids' college funds because Meredith does not have the money for that.

Over at the Custer/Grundstrom household (see PV 8/27/20), Dwayne asked his girlfriend Lexie Broke to move in and she accepted.  Delilah and Mark were not interested in progressing their relationships, though they did have dates with their significant others.  Everyone went to work, but only Dwayne and Lexie got promoted.  The rest of their time was spent skilling for jobs and/or playing with the new puppy (Stoker) they got to keep the other puppy (Bram) company.

Joel Hanby, Chaz Whippler, and Tom Freshe (see PV 8/27/20) all went to work, none got promoted, and Joel got a bad chance card that caused his pay to get docked.  Neither Chaz nor Tom found the job they wanted and will have to keep on with the jobs they have.  Everyone had a group outing, but I was too lazy to sent them all out, so they had their outings at home.  Unfortunately, the game crashed as I was saving, so I have no idea if any of this actually happened.  I'll check tomorrow and play them over if I need to.

On that note, Happy Simming? 😕

Pleasantview 10/25/20

Jane and Castor Nova (see PV 8/26/20) spent a quiet morning together before both heading out to work.  Unfortunately, neither got promoted, despite having all the skills/friends they need.  Jane spent time working on her masters; she finished the first half and started working on the second.

Matthew Hart (see PV 8/26/20) had the day off today, while his roommate William Williamson worked and got promoted.  He's really moving up the ranks a lot faster than Matthew.  He spent his entire bonus and then some on a telescope so he can earn logic for the next promotion.  Both had group outings with friends.  Matthew would like to move in with his girlfriend, Jessie Pilferson, but she's opposed to the idea.  William prefers to keep both his girlfriends at bay on that topic.

Eric Landgraab (see PV 8/26/20) decided to adopt an elderly cat this round.  She won't be around long, but at least she has a home.  After work, Eric was due for a date.  Unfortunately, he looked all around this town and all he found was Heath (Lothario, a vampire/werewolf and, oh yeah, married).  I don't suppose it bothers Eric overly much, given he's an evil warlock, but there's not much future in it.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/24/20

Shanna Copur (see PV 8/25/20) had a little bit of luck this round.  While running her boutique she earned a benefit point of $1000, which allowed her to restock the perfume in addition to jewelry.  She still can't restock any of the clothes, but she's making some progress at least.  Upon returning home, her landlord informed her that the rent was so late that it would be added to her bills.  When this happens, I give my sims until the end of the day to pay that bill or be evicted.  Luckily, Sarah was able to earn the rest of the money they needed just before dawn by doing financial consulting all night.  It's only a temporary reprieve, of course, because the rent will be due again in a few days, but they're keeping their heads above water for the time being.

Chris and Xavier Sims (see PV 8/25/20) had a slightly better round this time.  They're all still sick and Xavier got demoted at work, but he did put in a good amount of work on his degree and it'll be the weekend next round, so Kurt can catch up on homework.  The new baby will also arrive next round.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/23/20

Pamela Broke (see PV 8/24/20) is on her own again, which I think she prefers actually.  She got a promotion at work and then went on a date with Braden Dreamer.  The date went well, but Pam's not interested in a more serious relationship at the moment.  Back at home she acquired the cleaning point she needed for her job and went to bed.  The only thing that marred her day was being sick with a mysterious disease, but I'm sure she'll come through it quickly like she does everything else.

This round Amy and Meadow Shahan (see PV 8/24/20) decided to adopt another child, who will arrive next round.  There will be quite an age difference between the kids, as Elise will be growing up into a teen next time.  In other news, Amy got another promotion, which is great for her LTW as well as their bank account.  Both she and Meadow will have the next two days off which works really well for bonding with the new baby and celebrating Elise's birthday.

Blossom, Klara, and Stella (see PV 8/24/20) were kept busy this round with group outings, work, and skilling.  Both Blossom and Klara got promoted, though Blossom is still not working in the field of her choice.  Stella had the day off and used it to get the needed skills for promotion.  Though both Blossom and Stella would like to get more serious with William, he's not budging on retaining his independence.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/22/20

Kevin and Marie Bruty (see PV 8/24/20) spent the morning skilling before Kevin had to go to work.  He came home with a promotion and then they celebrated Michelle's birthday.  Michelle rolled the LTW to top Music, for which she'll need a high school diploma/GED.  The family can't exactly afford that right now because Kevin spent his bonus on a telescope so he can gain logic for work.  Maybe next round they'll be able to do it.  In the meantime, Michelle can look for work in a job that does not require any education.

The Wongs (see PV 8/24/20) had a lot going on this round.  Firstly, they all have day jobs that I had to get them off to safely.  Lindsay and Devin both came home at 3 pm with promotions.  Devin went straight to his coffin as directed, but Lindsay decided to do that "hey everyone, I have arrived" thing while standing in direct sunlight.  After that, she proceeded to go into aspiration failure while also standing in direct sunlight.  By the time the shrink poofed out, I was desperately directing her to fly inside so I could get her in her coffin, but she decided to drop that in favor of grabbing the mail and casually sauntering inside.  It was out of my hands at that point.  She died.  While all of this was going on, I failed to notice that Patrick had returned home from work as well and was outside doing I don't even know what.  When he came in to cry over his sister's death, I noticed him and sent him immediately to his coffin, luckily in time to save his life.  Over the next several hours the boys got in and out of their coffins to cry, but they both survived until nightfall.  Dumbest vampires of all time.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/21/20

The plant sim lot (see PV 8/22/20) is always uneventful, so I generally just fast forward through it.  Nothing to report.

Jessie Carr (see PV 8/22/20) had the day off, so he slept in and then worked on his GED for most of the afternoon.  In the evening he spent some time stargazing before going to bed.

Mia Landry (see PV 8/23/20) earned her final promotion to reach the top of the Gamer career and rolled a new LTW to reach the top of the Slacker career.  Since she didn't have any vacation days to spend, I had her look right away for Slacker and it came right up.  This should be easy for her since she already has most, if not all, the skills she'll need to reach the top.  Liam had the day off, so didn't have much going on.  Next round, Liam's daughter Caryl will age to teen.

Over on the alien lot (see PV 8/23/20) it was Sunday, so the kids had the day free to do as they liked.  Neither Remington nor Robi rolled any wants indicating they'd like to stargaze, so I left them to their own devices as well.  Next round Quade will become a teen and the round after that Lysandra will be ready for Uni.

The Seiferts (see PV 8/23/20) had a lot going on this round.  While Elise was at work, Cooper had his hands full at home with the babies.  They were both scheduled for outings, but since it was also Ivy's birthday, I decided to have them do their outings at home.  Neither outing went particularly well, given they barely had time to socialize, but eventually they got both kids to bed, everyone left, and they tried to get some much needed sleep themselves.  When the baby woke them up a few hours later, Cooper took some time to work on school, finishing his first section.  Unfortunately, his education will have to be put on hold until they come up with rent money.  Elise did not get promoted and they're still short.  Hopefully they'll get caught up next round and can start saving for Cooper's next segment.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/20/20

Sabastian Broke (see PV 8/22/20) got demoted from a bad chance card, but then had a nice date with his boyfriend Damion Pearson (a townie).  Though they've been dating for a long time, they still don't seem ready to take the next step and move in together.  Geoffrey also had a date with his ex-wife Delia Ottomas, but I don't think she quite saw it as a date because even though Geoffrey's feelings were rekindled by the end, Delia didn't even get a crush on him.  Guess she's holding out for Luke and the mansion.  At least Geoffrey could console himself with a hefty promotion bonus.

Riley Ottomas, Braden Dreamer, and Mira Leong (see PV 8/22/20) all had dates this round, though none decided to move in or get more serious.  For Riley, that's par for the course; she's never been too serious about anyone.  I half expected Braden to move in with Pamela, now that she broke up with Calvin, but it didn't happen.  Mira is too busy with work and school to spare much thought for relationships; maybe that's why she's dating someone who's in a committed relationship.  In other news, Riley's brother Landon stopped by for a visit, only she had to leave for work a short while later, so he ended up playing pool with Braden for most of the evening.  Mira finished part one of her masters degree and started work on part two.  She has several days off in a row, so she may be able to get it finished up soon.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/19/20

Edwin Sharpe (see PV 8/20/20) decided this round that he'd like to move in his girlfriend, Delilah O'Feefe.  The only problem with that is that, unbeknownst to him, Delilah has also been seeing Edwin's roommate, Mitch Indie.  Now I could have moved the couple into Delilah's apartment instead, leaving Mitch here on his own, but where's the fun in that?  This way Dee will have to make a choice and deal with the consequences of her actions.  That hasn't happened yet, however, since they were all busy with work/skilling.  Dee still hasn't found her Adventure job and continues to work as an Artist, but they all brought in a decent paycheck this round and were able to chip in for a tv.  Financially, things are looking up, but heartbreak is definitely on the horizon.

DJ Verse and Calista Lew (see PV 8/21/20) decided to get married this round.  They both had the day off to spend together and celebrate their nuptials.  Even more good news came for DJ when she found a Law job on the computer.  She immediately rolled the want to go to work.  I guess she's excited for her first day.

The struggle continued for Brian Donnelly (see PV 8/21/20) and his kids.  Since both Brian and Aaron were scheduled to work and hiring a nanny would be counterproductive, I had Aaron call in sick to work and stay home to watch his sister while Brian worked.  Fortunately, Brian did come home with a promotion to the top of his elder job.  Neither has earned any vacation time yet, so this strategy will only work for so long before it starts to impact their performance.  On top of that, Aaron's grades aren't looking great either, which could cause him to lose his job as well.

Brandon GilsCarbo (see PV 8/21/20) had an outing with friends at the community pool before going off to work in the afternoon.  He didn't get promoted (again) and also didn't find his LTW career of Music.  At the rate he's going, he won't be able to make the rent come Monday.  He may have to move back in with one of his parents at some point.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/18/20

Clarence Ramirez and girlfriend Tracy Ngai (see PV 8/21/20) spent this round settling into their new place.  Clarence had the day off and Tracy hasn't found the job she wants in Natural Science just yet (her LTW is Golden Anniversary), so they took some time to get adjusted to their new surroundings.  Some friends called and invited them out, so they went to the games hobby lot and had a great time.  Tracy wasn't feeling well when they got home and they found out she's pregnant!  Good thing they have that second bedroom.

When we last caught up with Calvin Dreamer, he'd just broken up with his girlfriend Pamela and moved out.  Now that he's living at Tech Terrace, things have not improved.  Not only was he sick with the infamous mysterious disease, but his work performance was already low due to being a vampire with a job that starts at 4 pm.  Consequently, when he went to work in a bad mood yet again, he came home with a pink slip.  Life is really kicking Calvin in the teeth at the moment.  Poor guy.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/17/20

At the House of Fallen Trees (see PV 8/19/20) it was Sunday, which means the kids pretty much ran wild the entire day, while the butler and maid followed them around, cleaning up messes.  At night Matthew and Maura continued to work on the skills they'll need for careers in Criminal and Law, respectively.  Law came up after midnight, so I had Maura go ahead and take that in preparation for the criminal lair that will form once some of the kids clear out.  Still no Criminal job for Matt, however, so he'll keep on skilling and waiting.  I won't start moving in other criminals until he reaches Criminal Mastermind.

Andrzej Landgraab (see PV 8/20/20) had the day off and both he and Stacy were due for outings.  Since they both had Brooke Larson on their list of friends, I decided to have them do a joint group outing (at their apartment because they can't afford to pay a nanny).  Here's the tricky part: Brooke is Stacy's brother Luke's ex and the mother of three of his children.  Luke and Brooke broke up not long ago.  Luke was also on Stacy's list, so it would seem she was rooting for them to get back together.  However, Brooke was on Andrzej's list because he's been having an affair with her.  In addition to Brooke and Luke, the outing also involved Stacy's mother Amelia, Andrzej's sister Holly, and his friend from college Brenda.  At first, everything was going fine; Brooke and Luke were avoiding each other and Andrzej was tied up talking on the phone.  But then Brooke decided to make Andrzej jealous by flirting with Luke in front of him.  Andrzej became furious, naturally, and started slapping everyone.  His sister Holly also slapped Luke in solidarity with her brother.  The outing score plummeted, causing it to end immediately and everyone left.  Andrzej and Stacy had a huge argument right after.  I guess she was mad at him for interrupting her matchmaking; I wonder what excuse he gave her?  In any event, their marriage remains intact, the affair is over, and Stacy is none the wiser about it.

Sophie Young (see PV 8/20/20) spent the day at home alone, while her boyfriend Eric Parker was at work.  When he got home, he was dead tired, so Sophie took the opportunity to hang out with some friends.  The outing went well and she came home happy.  She and Eric spent a little time together and then she went to bed (taking her final vacation for Science), while he went out with his friends and returned home to do some stargazing for logic.  He went to bed just as she was getting up.  She checked for Criminal on the computer, but it wasn't there.  She'll continue to work in Science, taking any vacation days she earns immediately, until Criminal comes up at which point she'll switch.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/16/20

Nick Broke and Yvette Kim (see PV 8/17/20) had a busy round.  Yvette stayed home with Joanne, while Nick worked.  Once she got her down for a nap, she invited over some friends for an outing.  When Nick got home, he went out to his hobby lot with his brother, then came home to celebrate Joanne's birthday.  After that, it was hours of stargazing before finally crashing into bed.  Yvette looked for Journalism again, but it still didn't come up.

Nerissa Gregory and Rose Dai (see PV 8/17/20) both had the day off and spent it in a joint group outing with their friends.  Afterwards they hung around the house and just relaxed.  Rose doesn't need any skills at the moment and Nerissa's at the top of her job, so they didn't have much to do apart from recreation and housework.  Sometimes it's nice to have a quiet day.

Moving on to Downtown, Nadine Kim (see PV 8/18/20) invited her dad (Jace) over for a visit, while Anton and Steffi were at school and he stayed to celebrate Monika's birthday with them.  The rent was due this round, but Nadine doesn't quite have it.  I think she'll be able to swing it next round though.

Jan Tellerman (see PV 8/19/20) spent a quiet morning at home, then went to work in the afternoon, returning with a promotion.  She called up some friends for an outing at a coffee shop in Bluewater.  They got bored there fairly quickly, so she brought them all back to her place where they partied like it was 1999 until about four in the morning.  It was fine though because Jan had the next day off from work.  She'll be an elder soon, but you'd never guess it from her lifestyle.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/15/20

Renaud Delarosa and Brooke Lawson (see PV 8/16/20) both had the day off this round.  Renaud spent some time with his boys in the afternoon and then hung out with his friend Charles.  Brooke has become pretty friendly with their neighbor Orlando.  She even watches his daughter sometimes when he's got an early work shift.  So far, Renaud and Brooke haven't thought about marriage or children, but that may change in the future.

Over at the Huffington/Ruben residence (see PV 8/16/20) I had a terrible time keeping Heather in her coffin all day.  At one point, I was fast forwarding because Martin was a work and Heather got all the way out to the swings before I stopped her and sent her back to bed.  She nearly starved to death.  She really needs to get better at being a vampire or she won't live much longer.  Martin did at least get promoted and used most of his bonus money to buy a telescope so he can skill logic.  The couple spent most of the evening arguing, though whether it was about Martin's extravagant purchase or Heather's suicide attempt, I'm not sure.

Tiffany Sampson and Joshua Ruben (see PV 8/17/20) decided to tie the knot this round.  However, when they subsequently discovered they were expecting, they mutually decided to give the baby up for adoption.  Maybe they're just not ready yet or maybe they want to work on their careers first?  Joshua has yet to even start working in his chosen field as Dance still did not come up.  In any event, a few rounds from now their child will be born and become a resident of the orphanage.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/14/20

Orlando Bertino (see 8/16/20) had a much needed day off, during which he took his daughter out to his hobby lot for the day.  Back at home he buckled down and got a lot of work done on his degree, though he still hasn't quite finished.  Next round will be Sunday, so he'll have the day off again and will hopefully get it done.  Teri will also grow up next round, which will be awesome for Orlando, since he won't need to worry about child care any longer.

This round with the Philippines (see PV 8/16/20) was fairly productive.  Clarence went to work, while Erin stayed home with Crystal.  When Clarence got home from work, he took over from Erin, so she could have some time for herself.  He managed to finish potty training Crystal, as well as teaching her to talk (she could already walk).  By the end of the day, the apartment was reasonably clean, everyone was happy, and one of their kittens had grown into a beautiful adult cat.  I call that a win.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/13/20

Calista Copur (see PV 8/14/20) had an uneventful round.  She bought a stationary bike to help her gain the body point she needed for her job.  It paid off because she got a promotion, but then promptly needed another body point.  She got that one too and then spent the rest of the day goofing off.

Frances Worthington (see PV 8/14/20) had the day off from his Culinary job, so he had an outing with friends at the cuisine hobby lot.  A good time was had by all and he met a lot of new people.  Back at home, he did some skilling, made some calls, and looked for Athletic again after midnight.  It wasn't there, but at least he's in line for a promotion in Culinary when he gets back to work next round.

Almeric Davis and Anna Lawson (see PV 8/14/20) spent the day at home together.  Turns out they're both sick, so they spent most of their time throwing up.  Unfortunately, neither was feeling any better by the end of the round.  Nevertheless, Almeric will work next round and, according to a random guy who called to say he's Almeric's boss's cousin, he'll be getting a much needed promotion just in time for the baby's birth.

Checo and Christy Ramirez (see PV 8/15/20) are still struggling financially.  Checo tried to ask a neighbor to watch Rusty for the hour between him leaving for work and Christy getting home, but he's not friendly enough with any of them I guess because the option didn't appear.  That meant calling a nanny and spending money they can't afford.  On top of that, Rusty grew into a child and therefore needed a new bed.  The landlord came around to hassle them about the rent, but they just don't have it.  In fact, by the end of the round they had about $100 less than they had to start with.  It's not looking good for them.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/12/20

This round Marie Mazza (see PV 8/13/20) had a date with a townie, Andrew Gergis, and at the end of it they decided to move in together.  Andrew brought in $10,000 which is great, but still not really enough for a bigger house.  He works in the Slacker career, but wants to be in Law.  The rule of thumb for townies is that they are assumed to have the proper education for whatever job they're in.  Unfortunately for Andrew, Slacker does not require any education, therefore he has no education.  That means he'll have to earn a GED, a degree, and a masters degree online.  With that in mind, I decided to have them stay on here for a little while, even though Andrew has to sleep on a hammock outside due to space concerns.  Once little Theo becomes a child they'll need to find something better.

Cole and Brittany Long (see PV 8/13/20) both had the day off today.  They each took some time to have outings with their friends and then Brittany spent most of the day working on school, while Cole took care of Skye.  Neither of them is keen on household chores, so their house is pretty trashed, but Cole did clean up the kitchen a bit.  In the afternoon, Brittany finally popped!  I think the baby is still not due for a couple days, but who knows at this point.  Thanks to Brittany's maternity pay, they were able to scrape up enough money to buy a bathtub and finally bathe their stinky dog China.  Money will continue to be tight for the foreseeable future since Cole has two more days off and Brittany will be on maternity leave until the baby's born.

Jace Rusewicz (see PV 8/14/20) decided to pop the question to his girlfriend Nancy this round.  At long last Nancy became Mrs. Rusewicz.  It was just what she needed after getting demoted at work and arriving home just in time to watch the cat die.  At least Jace got promoted, so the family has a little cash now.  I need to start thinking about the best ways to expand their house, since all three kids are still sharing a room.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/11/20

Today we'll catch up with the Ottomas/Broke clan (see PV 8/12/20).  Logan and Russell both went to work, while Trudi took the day off to care for Chip.  Sadly, while most of them were out for the day, their dog Alegra died of old age.  Their other dog Chachi was very sad to lose his friend.  Upon returning home, Logan had an outing with some friends, while Russell and Trudi took turns with the baby/household chores and working on their online degrees.  The girls had an uneventful day, though they did bring a friend home from school.  Both neglected their homework, however, so they'll need to get cracking on that next round.

Over at Claire Tellerman's house (see PV 8/13/20) things were running smoothly for once.  Claire stayed in her coffin all day while the kids went to school.  Both kids brought friends home and hung out with them until Laura cooked dinner for everyone.  They both got their homework done and went to bed shortly after Claire rose for the night to do her financial consulting.  She finally saved up enough to pay for her GED class and will begin working on that next round.

Zena Dreamer (see PV 8/13/20) took the night off to spend with her daughter.  We had a close call, however, while Dakota was doing her homework.  Zena was playing with the train set when it caught fire and she lit up as well.  The fire department got there in the nick of time to put her out, but Dakota came close to losing her mom.  Giver her dad's age, she'll be losing him in the near future, so it would have been terrible if she'd lost her mom too.

That's all for today.  Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/10/20

There's only one update today because when I entered Bruce and Lois Tellerman's house (see PV 8/12/20) I realized that the last day I played them had not saved for some reason.  I'm guessing that the game crashed while saving them and I just hoped for the best.  So anyway, I had to play them for two days to get them back on track with everyone else.  The first day was pretty uneventful.  Bruce went to work, while Lois stayed home with the baby.  The second day, however, was pretty chaotic.  Both were off during the day and both needed to have group outings, but their outings included vampires so had to wait until nighttime.  At 6 pm it was Gail's birthday and she grew into a child.  As soon as it got dark, I had them both invite their groups over for outings because I knew Lois would be giving birth soon and didn't want to deal with all the load screens to take them both out individually.  I'd also just spent a great deal of time building a second floor onto their house, so Gail could move upstairs, leaving the nursery for the new baby.  So both outings are going on simultaneously and everything is fine until Bruce, in his infinite sim wisdom, decides to start making out with his friend Gladys Yates.  All hell broke loose, slapping, crying, you name it.  Then Lois went into labor and gave birth to another daughter, Cheryl.  Once all the outings ended and Lois got the baby settled, she immediately broke up with Bruce and I had him move in with his dad temporarily until I figure out what to do with him.  The girls will stay with Lois.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/9/20

Goopy GilsCarbo and Allyn Shahan (see PV 8/10/20) both worked this round; Allyn got promoted, Goopy did not.  Since they had the money, Goopy tried inviting Aaron and Garrett over for a college payout, but they refused to come, so he settled for just chatting with them on the phone to boost the relationships a little bit.  Maybe next time they'll come.  Later on their youngest son, Galen, grew into a toddler.

Jonah Powers (see PV 8/11/20) is getting along okay on his own.  He didn't get promoted, which meant he couldn't make the full payment due on his student loan, but he paid what he could in addition to his regular bills that were also due.  After work he had a date with Tamara Fuchs.  He doesn't seem to be interested in making that relationship more serious (can't really blame him) and neither does she, so it's working for them.

Marla Biggs and Orlando Gothier (see PV 8/11/20) decided to take the plunge and get married this round.  On top of that, Orlando got promoted on his first day of work, so they had a lot to celebrate.  Marla finally found a job in Architecture as well.  Next round they'll welcome their baby.

Delia Ottomas (see PV 8/11/20) had the night off, so she was able to devote some time to the kids, the garden, and the house.  She was so productive, she even had time for a date with Luke while the twins were napping.  Luckily she didn't get pregnant during the date or she and Luke would have to wait indefinitely to move in together.  As it is, they'll need to wait for Luke's mother Amelia to die before there's enough room for them all to live in one household.  Arthur tried asking Eliza Ottomas on a date, but she politely declined, so he settled for a phone chat instead.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/8/20

Amar Bigfoot (see PV 8/10/20) had an uneventful round.  No puppies were born yet.

Darcy Broke (see PV 8/10/20) spent her night caring for her dog, doing some aerobics to satisfy her want to get fit, followed by a long soak in the hot tub, and then squeezing in a couple hours work on her novel.

Last time we checked in with Aiyana Gray and Quinn Leong (see PV 8/10/20) they'd just welcomed their baby daughter into the family.  However, you may recall that while I was playing another sim's outing, Quinn autonomously flirted with Kaylynn Ottomas right in front of Aiyana causing furiousness and slapping.  Consequently, Quinn was sent packing immediately upon entering this household.  He'll be moving in with his friend Will, who lives at Melrose Place, and we'll catch up with him then.  For now, Aiyana is back to being a single mom.  She and the teens all had group outings that culminated in an impromptu birthday party for baby Harper, who grew into a toddler.  Next round Aiyana will get back to work and luckily she now has teens in the household who can babysit, so she'll be able to avoid using the nanny.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/7/20

Elise Bruty (see PV 9/14/20) settled into her new place where she discovered leftover tomato plants from the last residents.  After work she spent a good deal of time working in the garden and ultimately harvested all the tomatoes.  I'm not sure if she'll want to continue with gardening as a hobby, but she's got some fresh produce for now.  She didn't have time to work on skills for her job, but since she's short on friends now as well, so she wouldn't have been promoted anyway.

Brandon Tellerman (see PV 8/9/20) had an uneventful round, sleeping through the day and working on his masters degree for Education at night.  Next round he'll have his first day of work.

Annabeth and Dominique Copur (see PV 8/9/20) spent a quiet Sunday at home together.  Dom taught one of the cats a skill she needed for her job.  Annabeth invited Amy by to give her college money.  Next round Annabeth will head back to work, but I doubt she'll ever get that last promotion she's been looking for because she needs too many friends and only has 5 days left before retirement.

That's it for today.  Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/6/20

Ryan Jacquet (see PV 8/8/20) got a promotion at work and then had a date with one of his married girlfriends.  He prefers them to be attached to someone else, so they don't get too attached to him.  The date went fine, but I noticed he's somehow short on friends for his next promotion.  He may need to take advantage of the "family outing" scheduled for next round just to meet (and hopefully befriend) some new people.

Luc Young (see PV 8/9/20) had a pretty uneventful round.  He went to work and then had a group outing scheduled, but only one of his friends could make it, so it ended up being boring.  His ex, Sophie, showed up while he was out and they were able to be civil, though there were no signs of them getting back together.

Joe and Marion Carr (see PV 8/9/20) both had the day off today.  The cat did decide to go to work, but since she'd missed a day, her performance was too low for a promotion.  In the middle of the night, Marion got the munchies and nearly ended her own life by catching fire while trying to serve crepes suzette.  She's been fighting the "mysterious disease" for a while and I was worried this would be it for her, but luckily the firefighters arrived in the nick of time.

Pleasantview 10/5/20

Florence Delarosa (see PV 8/7/20) spent her day gardening, had a lame date in the evening, and came home exhausted, dropping straight into bed.  Does life get any better for a sim?

The Cox family (see PV 8/7/20) welcomed their first child this round, a girl named Phoebe.  She was born immediately after Chloe's "outing" (an at home brunch) with her mother, twin, and close friend Savannah.  Christian was at work while all of this went down and by the time he returned, everyone was asleep, so he headed out to a community lot for an outing with his sister Hailey and couple other friends.  Everything was going swimmingly until they paired off to play darts.  I've never seen this happen before, but it seems like Christian got mad at his friend Lisa while they were playing and their relationship score dropped from the 80s to the 40s.  This, of course, tanked the outing score, causing it to end early and Christian took a hit to his needs.  Luckily he'd been in a great mood to start with, so he wasn't too adversely affected.  Upon returning home, he studied up on the cleaning point he needed for work and went to bed ready to be promoted next round.

Ty Bubbler (see PV 8/8/20) had a slightly more productive round this time.  He didn't find a Music job in the paper, but he did go to work at his Culinary job and earned some money.  No promotion of course.  The chances of Ty being able to come up with rent money in two days are somewhere between "very unlikely" and "absolutely impossible".  The rule for sims not paying rent is that if it goes on long enough for it to be "sent to collection" (it gets added to their bills) I consider that to be an eviction notice and they must move out.  If that happens to Ty, his finances will not leave him many choices for places to live.  He does have a lot of friends, though, so maybe one of them will take him in.

Andrew and Kaylynn Ottomas (see PV 8/8/20) spent a quiet Sunday at home with their kids this round.  They invited David over to make it a true family affair.  He brought a friend and everyone spent time playing poker off and on.  In the evening, Kaylynn was fiend on the exercise bike, though I'm pretty sure she's already maxed body.  Gideon did a little stargazing, but was interrupted by ghost cat Cymmi.  All in all, it was a pretty nice day for everyone.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/4/20

Brittany Korman (see PV 8/6/20) had the day off today and spent it getting that last body point she needed for work.  She got the point just minutes before she'd have to leave for work the next morning, so I'm hopeful she'll get her final promotion next round right before she ages up to elder.  It'd be a nice way to celebrate.  Jeannette called a couple of friends and met a new girl who walked by.  They watched cartoons all afternoon while Brittany was doing yoga.

Miley Futa (see PV 8/6/20) had an uneventful round.  She spent some time on the exercise bike (she's one very fit old lady), had a bath and a nap, cooked dinner for one, trimmed her fruit tree, chatted online, and did some financial consulting.

Landon and Tanya's household (see PV 8/6/20) was all about skilling/jobs this round.  Landon needed a body point, which he got upon returning from work.  Both Tanya and Jonathan got promoted and started skilling as soon as they got home.  Amar still did not find a job in Dance, so spent his day doing household chores and taking care of the pets.

After the tragedy of last round Cynthia Picaso (see PV 8/7/20) decided this time (per the new rules) that she wanted another baby and promptly produced a plant son who she named Griffin.  Having two children will increase her odds of marrying off six children, but I still doubt it will happen.  She immediately went off to work and got promoted.  Upon returning home she had a date with Jessie Carr, who she'd brought home from work.  It went fine and they are now in crush.  Stuart babysat while his mom was working and then had a date with Tessa Ramirez.  The date went well, though I'm not sure they're a very good fit for one another.  We'll see what happens there.

Jace Lothario and Charles Bertino (see PV 8/7/20) both had the day off this round.  While Charles slept, Jace honed his guitar skills.  After dark, Charles went for a swim in the brand new pool I decided to build them.

Rebecca Larson (see PV 8/7/20) scored another dream date this round and spent the rest of her time lounging around the house.  Andrea did absolutely nothing and continued to be useless.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/3/20

Margaret Dreamer (see PV 8/5/20) spent a quiet day at home, tending her plants.  In the evening she was invited out by a friend of a friend and had a pretty good time at a club.

Isabella Landgraab (see PV 8/5/20) went to work and then did some household chores at night.  I had the idea to get her garden in shape and then call the Garden Club out, so that she could maybe get the wishing well (I haven't done this in ages), but apparently you can't call them at night, which is kind of a problem for vampires.  If I can manage it somehow next time, it could be a good way for her to make the friends she needs.

When we last visited Claire Deppiesse (see PV 8/5/20) she was annoyed with her daughter Evelyn.  That didn't improve this round, but they did find a solution.  Evelyn decided to move her boyfriend James Radcliffe in (one of her boyfriends anyway).  Claire took the opportunity to move out and live with Dylan Broke, the father of her twin sons who she recently rekindled things with.  She took one of the dogs with her (the pregnant one).  Consequently, I was able to rearrange the sleeping arrangements, so that Julie finally has her own room, as opposed to sharing with first her mom and then her grandma.  I don't know yet whether Evelyn and James will decide to get married or have any children together, but at least there will be one source of income (James works in Culinary) since Evelyn again did not find her job.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/2/20

I had to do a slight remodel on the Larson house (see PV 8/3/20) this round, since Craig became a vampire in the interim.  Since I was already expanding the master bedroom a little, I decided to go ahead and give them a master bathroom as well.  Apart from that, they pretty much maintained the status quo.  Craig did not find a job in Military, Alicia did not finish her GED, and she did not give birth.

AJ Broke (see PV 8/3/20) had a successful day at the cafe, nearly ranking up to level 5.  Obviously, he'll never achieve five level 10 businesses, given his age, but I am interested to see who he leaves it to when he eventually passes on.  That won't be for a while yet; he still has plenty of time left on his bar.  Xander had the day off, but Gloria had to work.  She had greeted a walkby earlier in the day and I'd hoped someone in the household would befriend her, so that Gloria could finally get promoted, but no one quite got there.

Tammy Ottomas and Griff Schehl (see PV 8/4/20) spent a relaxing Sunday at home.  Tad should've had a play date, but sadly he has no friends.  I watched for children to walk by, but none did.  Griff tried to work on skills for his job, but between being pregnant and sick with a mysterious disease, he didn't get much done.

Marylena GilsCarbo (see PV 8/4/20), whose name I messed up on last update, has become a grandmother since her last update.  I think she's pretty excited about that.  Now if only the rest of her five children would get married she'd be ecstatic (her LTW is to marry off six children).  Everyone in the household needed to have a group outing this round and since they all wanted some combination of Marcus, Brandon, and Aaron (apparently no one cares about Gabi), I had them do one big outing.  They never actually got around to the "going out" part of the outing, however, because first Garrett had school and then Adam had work, but a good time was had by all.  Garrett developed a crush on his friend Trinity Wong; we'll see what happens there.  Adam did not get promoted, but Marylena finished a car, which brought in a nice sum.

Happy Simming!

Pleasantview 10/1/20

Dylan and Carter Broke (see PV 8/2/20) spent a quiet Sunday round, inviting their kids around for college payments, bathing the dog, and just taking it easy.  After using up his last vacation day, Carter went looking for Dance and it was the first job to pop up.  It seems like a weird segue to me, but who am I to judge what sims want?

The Goths (see PV 8/2/20) spent their day as they always do, doing whatever the heck they want all day.  I was reminded of a fun story, however, when the ghosts of Gunther and Cornelia Goth came out to play.  Their ghosts are red, indicating they died in a fire.  Interestingly enough, that's how they died in my Sims 1 game.  For some reason, I really hated the elder Goths in TS1, so I moved them out of their mansion and into a trailer and made Cornelia become a witch.  At some point, she got hold of a dragon egg and when it hatched it literally burned everything, including them, to the ground.  Maybe that's not a fun story?  It is to me, lol.

Grace Butler (see PV 8/3/20) took the day off to try to deal with the kids and the house.  I don't know how successful she was, lol.  It was Sunday, so the older boys had play dates.  Since Blake didn't have any friends to invite, but Corbin had a lot, I let Corbin invite a few extras.  There ended up being six additional kids underfoot as Grace tried to care for the girls and the pets, while also cleaning up a little and trying to socialize with a townie walkby for her LTW (20 Lovers).  Add to that both girls having birthdays and you've really got a PAR-TAY.  At the end of the day, she'd made friends with the townie guy, no toddlers learned any skills, the house was still a wreck, and she'd neglected to earn any of the skills needed for her next promotion.  But everyone (except Grace) was clean, fed, and rested by the end of the round, so Grace counts that as a win.

Happy Simming!
