Amazonia 8/17/24

 Here's an update:

Clan Games:  Queen Hippolyte has passed away at the age of 94 (queens get a bottle of elixir which gives them an extra 15 days of life, so she was actually 79) and passed her title to her daughter Marpe, who is also of Clan Games.  Marpe gave birth to a son, who was shipped off to the men's village with his father, and has subsequently given birth to a daughter, Ainia, who is now a toddler.  The queen is expecting her third child.  In addition, Queen Marpe's niece, Eumache, has joined Clan Games.

Clan Nature:  Still vacant.

Clan Tinkering:  Pantariste has become an elder and her youngest daughter, Lykopis, is now a teen and ready to found Clan Science.  

Clan Cuisine:  Molpadia gave birth to a daughter, Bremusa, as well as a couple of boys who went to live in the men's village.  Her oldest daughter, Antiope, is now a teen and she's planning to remain in Clan Cuisine.  Eumache also became a teen and joined Clan Games.  Bremusa is still a child, but when she comes of age, she plans to join Clan Fitness.

Clan Fitness:  Alkaia gave birth to twin daughters, Hippomache and Penthesilea, and Doris subsequently gave birth to a third daughter as well, Eurybe.  Iphito grew into a teen and decided to re-establish Clan Nature.  Hippothoe escorted her there, as she wanted to see the place where she was born.  Kleoptoleme plans to remain in Clan Fitness, while Hippomache and Penthesilea will join Sports and Science, respectively.  Little Eurybe will have the honor of founding Clan Arts.

Clan Sports:  Harmothoe gave birth to a daughter, Derinoe, and later a son who was sent to live with his father.  Hypsipyle reached adulthood and will now be able to add more Amazons to the tribe.  Little Derinoe has already shown an aptitude for sports, so she'll remain here when she grows up.

Clan Science:  Lykopis has founded Clan Science.  Her funds are limited at the moment, so her abode is rather humble, but she will soon build it up.

Total current Amazon population is 19.

Male populations is 17.

Amazonia 8/6/24

 After one day of play in each lot, here's what we have so far:

Clan Games is made up of Queen Hippolyte and her sixth daughter, Marpe, who is currently expecting her first child.

Clan Nature was founded by the queen's first daughter, Orithia, but she died in a tragic accident (a fire I think?) and her infant daughter, Hippothoe, was taken in by her sister.

Clan Tinkering was founded by Queen Hippolyte's second daughter Pantariste, who raised her niece, Hippothoe, and has given birth to two daughters - Hypsipyle and Lykopis.

Clan Cuisine was founded by the queen's third daughter, Molpadia, who has had two daughters, Antiope and Eumache, and is expecting another child.

Clan Fitness was founded by Hippolyte's fourth and fifth daughters, Alkaia and Doris.  Hippothoe later joined this clan as well.  Doris has given birth to two daughters, Iphito and Kleoptoleme, and Alkaia is currently pregnant.

Clan Sports was founded by the queen's youngest daughter Harmothoe, who was soon joined by Hypsipyle.

Total current Amazon population is 14.

There are currently three men's lots that house a total population of 19 men/boys.

I'm planning to do another post at the end to update what's gone on, but I may do one or two in the middle if something exciting happens.  We'll see how it goes.  As I said, this neighborhood is still evolving, and I may come up with new ideas or decide to rework something as I go.  Ideas and suggestions are welcome.

Amazonia 8/5/24

 Today I begin playing Amazonia which, as you may have guessed, is a 'hood loosely based on the Amazons.  I say "loosely" because, aside from being a female-dominated society that has little use for men and my naming scheme, it has little in common with the actual Amazons.  I should note also that this is not the Amazon challenge that was created for The Sims 4; I've been playing this neighborhood in TS2 for a very long time - before TS4 even existed.

The rules here are pretty loose, still evolving, and the neighborhood is still quite small by my standards - only 9 lots.  The general premise is that the Amazons live in clans based on their preferred hobbies.  They run home businesses related to their clan's hobby.  They meet and breed with men, but do not form lasting relationships with them.  Female children are raised in the clan they were born into until they are teens, when they will move to the clan of their OTH.  Male children are cast aside to live with their fathers in hovels on the other side of the ravine.  There are currently six clans: Games, Nature, Tinkering, Cuisine, Fitness, and Sports.  Clan Nature, however, is currently vacant, as an unfortunate accident killed the founder of the clan.

The current queen is Hippolyte of Clan Games.  She was my founder and, therefore, automatically received the title of queen.  She has given birth to 12 children, 7 girls and 5 boys, of which 10 are still living, and she has 12 grandchildren (6/6).  Queen Hippolyte is now an elder and will soon pass her crown to the Amazon she is closest to, which will likely be her daughter Marpe, who is also of Clan Games.  The only real benefit to being queen is that the queen gets to drink a bottle of elixir, extending her lifespan and allowing her to produce more children.

The way the breeding process works is that each Amazon will breed with any man she chooses.  If the child is female, he will be given $1000, and she will breed with him again.  However, as soon as a male child is born, he will be moved in long enough to take his son and move out to one of the men's lots.  That particular Amazon woman will never breed with him again, though others are free to do so if they wish.  As these payments are their only source of income, the men's lives literally depend upon them producing girls.

And that's pretty much all there is to tell at this point.  I don't know how much I'll update because there's really not much to write about.  Maybe once at the beginning to introduce the clans and again at the end to discuss the progress?  I don't know, we'll see.

Spring Valley 8/4/24

 Spring Valley Public Library (200 Main St):  Iris Ford is really enjoying her job as the town's librarian.  She has an enormous amount of freedom (which she wouldn't have if she lived with her parents, or even under the watchful eye of the boarding house mistress).  The work is not overly demanding, and she gets to interact with many of the townspeople on a regular basis, but she also has plenty of time for her own interests.  It does get a bit lonely on weekends, however, so she's trying to befriend a stray cat she's seen around town.

**And that's going to do it for Spring Valley!  I've enjoyed it immensely and made so much progress, but I'm ready to move to another neighborhood now.  I have 100% decided which one just yet, but I'll let you know.  Until then, Happy Simming!

Spring Valley 8/3/24

 300 Farm Acre Rd:  Ralph and Catherine Ford started their married life off with a bang by welcoming twin boys, Stanley and Theodore, shortly after they got married.  Catherine suspects she may be carrying yet another set of twins already.  For the time being, she's holding things together, but she knows the chaos is coming soon.

400 Farm Acre Rd:  Michael and Elizabeth Adams got married with all their family present.  Michael's plan is to grow peppers, but he doesn't yet have the skill to do so, so he's growing tomatoes for the time being.  He'll use them to stock the fridge, so at least the cost of the seeds won't be wasted.  The couple's first child was a girl, Rosemary, and Elizabeth is expecting their second.

Spring Valley 8/2/24

 500 Grove Rd:  The struggle continues for Gretchen.  She always thought she was missing out on something when she was single and living at the boarding house and, on the one hand she was - she adores her husband and children, but on the other hand - it's backbreaking, exhausting work, day in and day out with no end in sight.  She did manage to finish some pottery, which was good as the apples James harvested will just barely keep the family fed, with no extra to sell.  James can hardly believe that Jackson will soon be an adult and ready to take over the orchard; after all, they've got a new baby, Steven, and another on the way.  The house is practically bursting at the seams already.

600 Grove Rd:  George and Camilla are just beginning their lives together.  They celebrated their nuptials with their families in attendance and shortly thereafter their heir was born, Xander.  George brought in a decent lemon harvest and Camilla has started working on sewing projects, though she's not very skilled yet.  They're off to a pretty good start.

Spring Valley 8/1/24

 400 Grove Rd:  Shane and Michelle got married with most of their family members in attendance.  Before long, they welcomed their first child, a girl who they named Jacqueline.  Shane harvested a decent orange crop, and Michelle began working on sewing projects to sell as well.  They're off to a good start in life.
