Phoenix Go already had the engagement want locked in when I entered the household, and since Phoenix is an elder and they might not have much time together, I let them have their wedding party on Monday night when Cherry returned home from work, rather than making them wait until the weekend as I usually do. All Cherry's siblings came to the wedding and it was a roof raiser, despite Joe Carr fighting with Eli and his wife Ivy constantly. The rest of the week was devoted to Cherry working as an employee at Wheeler Stadium, while Phoenix remained at home digging for treasure. Cherry did some digging as well, but she wasn't nearly as good at it as her husband who almost never hits a pipe. By the end of the week, they had enough money to pay their taxes and nearly finish their kitchen. No baby wants were rolled, but that may be a sensible choice for them, since Phoenix is halfway through his life bar and Cherry is 10 days to elder herself.
Taxes were $638.00, bringing the total to $124,198.00. Next up, a new family: the Parkers.
Del Parker is an elder who moved to Kahua Island with his adult daughter Darlene. Both are Popularity, so they get along with just about everyone in town. In fact, Del hit it off with several of the elderly women in town and even developed a crush on Lily Janson. I like the idea of them together, even though it will obviously be a short-lived relationship, since they're both elders. Not sure yet whether I'll move them in together or whether they'll live here or in the Janson home. Let's just see if anything more serious develops first. Darlene dated a few different guys this week, but I think she's got her heart set on townie Waylon Menon. Even though they're only one-bolters they seem like a good match. They are also currently in crush, so we'll wait to see if that progresses.
On the career front, Darlene has the LTW to top Culinary, so that was an easy choice, what with Culinary being fully open. She ended the week as a Waitress. Her dad spent his time digging for treasure, allowing the house to get some much-needed improvements.
Taxes came to $981.00, making the new total $125,179.00.
No changes to stats or careers, with the exception of adding one more worker to the Culinary field. Next up, another new family: the Nichols. Happy Simming!
